  1. RIP Terry Hall
  2. I love what Harris has been doing this offseason. Focus on internal development and figure out what they have in their current prospects. This team isn’t going anywhere this season even with the benefit of being in the worst division in baseball. I’m not sure it really makes sense to spend at all in this market.
  3. Ragnow the only Lion selected to the Pro Bowl. St. Brown completely robbed as Lamb and McLaurin chosen ahead of him. Ex-Lions Slay, Diggs, and Hock all make the NFC team.
  4. The Beatles had so much technical innovation in recording due to the genius of George Martin. Both bands started with the similar influences in blues and skiffle. Those can still be heard as the Stones main influence throughout their career. I’m not sure they evolved that much musically. That’s just fine since they were so good at it and became an influential live band. The Beatles were just the opposite and had their music evolve as much as almost any band that you can think of and they were only together for less than a decade. The combination of the public insanity and the love of playing around with new recording technologies kept them as mainly a studio band.
  5. Of all the aggressive calls he’s made over the last two years, this was the worst one in my book. It was not the right situation to take that kind of risk. Yet, it worked and turned out to be a pivotal move in winning the game. Weird game this football.
  6. Big pickup for Prime. To quote the great John McKay, “I had a big advantage over every other coach recruiting him, I slept with his mother”.
  7. Agree the NCAA will do nothing. Disagree on Michigan. Old Michigan would cry nobody is following the rules. New Michigan led by Urban Manuel is saying fuck it, we can play that game too. Transfers in from Nebraska and Coastal Carolina, doing nothing Mazi Smith, these are all things that never would’ve happened before. It’s a new time at Schembechler Hall.
  8. Moore can say NIL player no factor in his recruitment but Oregon used whatever they were going to give him and spread it around to 3 other players and flipped them all. They all didn’t randomly have a last minute change of heart. Ducks saved the very best offer for last.
  9. I’m a honestly a little shocked that you didn’t use UM high academic standards as an excuse preventing them from getting as many 5*.
  10. NIL is still developing and there’s still a huge grey area when it comes to how much the school can actively participate in regards to recruiting. As an example, USC has a robust NIL development team that is tied to the school. They will market players and help them get deals but they refuse to talk specifics with recruits. They can show them what other players in the program are getting but they won’t write down a number for that recruit until after they join. The schools with outside alumni run collectives can use the legal bag man route during recruiting and pretty much put together a contract while recruiting a player. There’s some thought that once NCAA gets its arms around NIL compliance they will come down hard on schools that have taken advantage of the alumni cash loophole. I really doubt that will happen but it is scaring some schools. They may make new rules but won’t go back and punish teams who broke them these past few years.
  11. It’s a bigger miss for Mel. Ideally, both teams want to keep the top rated player from the state at home. They will probably get another shot at him in a year or two via portal.
  12. Apparently this was a guy that flipped from Baylor to Oregon.
  13. Surprised that UM or MSU didn’t get more involved here when Oregon started to fall apart. Also saw that Graham Mertz is moving to Florida from Wisconsin and ND. Can’t figure out why he keeps getting these good options.
  14. Let it be noted that I tried to add to the conversation by adding a link to the famous “Bills fans throw dildo on the field” video but YouTube blocked it.
  15. Agree. There’s only one scenario that could possibly play out that would really disappoint me. I won’t get into it except to say it involves a last drive situation with a certain player in the last game of the season.
  16. What keeps me on an even keel around here is that I think so little of most of you. 😱 In all seriousness, the quest to “be right” can be overwhelming and that inability to being open to other viewpoints is often where our conflict arises. I agree that the ignore feature even if just temporary is a valuable thing.
  17. Anzalone has been noticeably better the past 6 weeks. He’s been solid instead of a giant liability. He definitely deserves so credit.
  18. One thing that continues to impress me is how many times the first option is wide open on crucial 3rd and 4th downs. This is great play design and play calling by the coaching staff. It keeps happening at least once every game.
  19. Lions open as 3 point favorites on the road next week in Carolina.
  20. What a great fucking game. Good teams win ugly. This in-season turnaround has been nothing short of amazing.
  21. Shitty first half and they are tied. Have to take some positives from that..
