  1. Brad strikes again with the great prove it deal. Familiarly with AG had to be huge here too.
  2. It’s crazy but he’s still 2nd favorite at +140. He’s the best driver in the best car but cmon there’s just not enough places to pass on that circuit for him to win.
  3. They are used to spread the signing bonus out over more years to lower the cap hit early in the contract. They will void the contract after 3 years and pay the remaining cap hit then.
  4. They would like to keep him at a lower number but there may not be agreement on what that looks like yet. He was the paid his last contract to play RT and his salary now reflects the 12th highest paid G in the league. I can’t see anyone else paying him close to that if he hits the market. Lions and his agent may be waiting it out to see who else signs and what fair market works out for him.
  5. Don’t like a $7.3M cap hit for 2024 and 2025
  6. Even if healthy, they aren’t paying him $12m next season. He will have to accept some type of rework to stick around until training camp.
  7. Succession
  8. Watched the entire Montgomery presser. He’s super impressive. A perfect fit here and I think he’s going to quickly become a fan and team favorite.
  9. Interested to see what happens with Vaitai. It’s really up to him. They would be happy to keep him as the starter but not for $12M. I’d think the number for the Lions would be half that and maybe more with incentive. Will he take it or go try the market? The Lions will go to plan B and won’t wait around for Vaitai if he does test it.
  10. Just like that Evan Brown signs in Seattle.
  11. He fits that Evan Brown profile but $4.5m seems like a lot for a backup G/C.
  12. Nice terms. They will need 2 guards somewhere assuming that Vaitai and Evan Brown aren’t coming back.
  13. I don’t see teams releasing star players in the future after the Diaz season ending injury.
  14. The driving issue was the least of his problems with NFL teams. The prior whispers about love of football and work ethic, the added weight post-combine and the terrible pro day workout are much bigger red flags. I wouldn’t take him off the board but he’s moved down to a day 3 guy.
  15. Miller is still an interesting case. It looks as if the biased local authorities won’t bring charges, but there’s going to be a civil case from the victims family. There will be discovery and it will include the entire text exchanges before during and after. Everyone will know if his story that he was an innocent mule who had no idea what was happening was true or if he indeed knew exactly what he was doing when he delivered the murder weapon. It’s going to be a big problem if he lied and is later found to be an accomplice to murder. The challenge is that none of this happening prior to draft day and will create a huge gamble for whoever drafts him.
  16. I’d offer the 6th round pick they gave us in the Trinity Benson debacle.
  17. Two poor decisions and two important lessons learned that likely won’t be repeated by either in the future.
  18. Gene just can quit that Russian money.
  19. I don’t look at Walter Football anymore. I can’t get over that god awful UI/UX from 2011 that he refuses to change.
  20. Don’t see Anderson making it to us, think they pass on Carter for all the baggage, and it’s such a deep draft at corner that I think they find one they really like after round 1.
  21. Lions have to trade Swift now so Montgomery can wear #32. Talk about an awkward situation for the head equipment guy.
  22. I think it locks in either Tyree Wilson or Lukas Van Ness at 6.
