  1. I think football is the only sport it would work. There’s just a different type of appetite for it. Recruiting has gotten so big that these kids are big names that young. I think if you were to also pair up NFL franchises and let a team from each conference share a team that would help to build a fan base.
  2. I had some friends in college that had their parents do this to them. Completely backfired as they just started doing coke instead. That only stays in the system for a few days.
  3. If done properly they could potentially make billions in a new income stream. That would easily be worth the investment. Making money is better than getting something for free.
  4. NCAA football exists now only because the NFL lets it. Its a great feeder system that they don’t have to pay for. They choose to support the NCAA rather than fight it. I don’t think these NIL changes are good for that relationship. The NFL can’t like it when Pittsburgh WR Jordyn Addison decides to enter the portal instead of the draft and is rumored to command an NIL deal that would be equal the 5th pick in the draft. He’s currently viewed as a late first round prospect for next years draft. That can’t be good for all the cost controls they’ve implemented with the rookie salary pool. If the NFL could figure out a way to crate a developmental league that would actually make them money that could be intriguing. Imagine if they had a 16 team league of only players 18-23 years old all that have NFL rights already assigned. There’s a ton of opportunity with that and especially if they could use an existing infrastructure provided by one of these new startup leagues.
  5. Not all 129 FBS programs. I think the landscape will change to about 40 or so teams that are considered major and will have an opportunity to really compete for titles
  6. NIL and the portal are the best things to ever happen to college football. The last 20 years have broken the sport and a shakeup was sorely needed. Unfortunately, we had the power brokers in the SEC, BCS, and ESPN blocking any changes because they were profiting. This current iteration of NIL and Portal is a complete mess and will have to change but it has done its job in forcing the elite to overhaul the system in the best interests of all and not just themselves.
  7. The offense played ok in what were essentially meaningless games after being eliminated from the playoffs. I’m interested to see how they fare under the pressure to perform in games that matter.
  8. They are a great band that made some tremendous music. The only thing that stopped them from being bigger were the peculiar personalities of both Robinson brothers.
  9. There’s only one band that would be this silly. First played in 1985 and still a staple in their live shows today. His end was the road.
  10. He sat for a year as planned. It is too big of leap to make the call right now that he will sit again this year.
  11. OK. So there is a reason to give Jimmy G away. They will need that call space. Still think it’s too early to bust on Lance especially based on anonymous reports. I’m not going to debate the accuracy of anonymous reports. That’s a waste of time.
  12. Ah, those anonymous reports again. I see them still very much in the playoff window with a favorable schedule. There has been no market for an injured Jimmy G, so really no point in giving him away when he can be an ample backup plan should Lance fail when given a shot.
  13. Why do people think Trey Lance is a bust after only one year where he sat on the bench as planned?
  14. In a way they already have
  15. Fuck
  16. I had to look it up because I thought it was a joke but apparently this is a real show. I am still not 100% sure this isn’t an elaborate joke. This may be the MCU nuke the fridge moment.
  17. The agave tequila bottle cap made another appearance last night. This season we’ve seen Kim go back to retrieve it when cleaning out her office after quitting her job, it was lying on the street in that opening scene flash forward to Saul’s abandoned house, and last night when the liquor store cashier made a comment on how sharp the ends were on it. Very interested to see the role this random object plays in the rest of the story.
  18. It’s really hard to tell. Are the 2 cars that different? Is Lewis checked out still from last seasons nightmare? Did he not prep for the season like he normally does? Is George one of the next great drivers? I have no idea if any of these are true or not. I expect they will figure a few things out shortly. If they can’t before the summer break, they will stop trying and put all effort into improving the 2023 car.
  19. I hope he gets his own episode somewhere in the final few.
  20. I was just going to post this is the story of the game.
  21. Hopefully it inspires Charlie Brooker to really push the envelope.
  22. Oh yeah!
