Actually by the actions they took, it appears they weren't corrupted. But yes, he had some serious doubts. Which sidebar, is why he should never be allowed back into the GOP. He sat there and played that 'executive power' bull**** with the 1/6 committee when he truly felt that Trump would have no problem having him killed. He's a power hungry coward that thinks he can somehow win and that's more important than helping ensure Trump never gets near the White House again...pathetic. But back to what you said, yes, Trump wanted people that were more loyal to him. Biden didn't necessarily trust them, just like Pence didn't. But you're talking a small contingent of the presidential detail. It's ridiculous to jump to the conclusion that Trump is at fault and wanted this national advisor dead, hence he somehow turned over and got rid of every SS that wasn't loyal to him in the DC area, not those a part of the presidential team. Then they purposefully let an intruder go in just to land themselves in the hot seat with their bosses.

This is where I get worried though. I want Europe to lead, it's in their backyard, and they certainly have contributed more than I would have originally expected. But I've had two fears with this, 1) this boils up into something much much bigger and is that worth it for a country that honestly doesn't have a lot of foreign value for us or 2) we get to a point like now where Ukraine is showing us something we didn't expect, but now is the US 3D level chess strategy weighing the pro's and con's of helping Ukraine defeat Russia or step back now, let Europe lead because it that'll give a better chance to allow continued fighting with no end in sight, costing Russia even more in terms of military.

Point taken, but note I wasn't giving any opinion on what the headline could indicate, regardless of any bias you may or may not have, but the fact that if you look for your news based on your bias, you're missing legitimate stories, even if the full context of that story might back up your ideas anyway.

ground.news I came across this site via Reddit. Maybe I'm late to the party, but it's interesting. I haven't been on it enough to determine if there are any issues with their process. In short, they use a third party that labels a news outlet as left, right, or center and then they simply point out what is big in the news and a breakdown of who is reporting on it. For instance, the NIH removed funding from the Wuhan lab, it's only being reported by right leaning outlets. There are calls for a GOP member of congress to be arrested for some incident with an activist, that's only being reported by left leaning outlets.

Ro Khanna continues to be sexist as he again calls for Feinstein to retire. The jokes on him though as Feinstein actually has been in DC voting this entire time. https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/reporters-detail-concerning-feinstein-encounter-18103053.php

Trump wasn't competent enough to get a cabinet full of folks that would be loyal supporters to him, yet he somehow turned over about 3000 secret service agents? If he was able to do this and it took the 1/6 investigation to even give an example regarding a few of his direct agents (at the very end of his term, meaning he pulled this off in a few weeks), than I might have to vote for the guy and hope he can get a chief of staff that will put that amazing ability to good use in a second term.

The argument that they hurt accuracy, which logically does make sense to me, makes it even more difficult in defending them. It shows just how 'slippery slope' crazy the GOP and NRA have gotten with guns.

Do you actually believe this or is it just a good talking point so you roll with it?

My buddy just shared this with me. I remember seeing it awhile ago so I wouldn't be surprised if Oblong posted it here before. It's just a rehearsal so the quality isn't great, but fun watching them talk it through and roll with it.

This was an interview. Absolutely it's the job of an interviewer to help facilitate news. I wish more in the media believed this. Unfortunately we've moved into a place where our leaders just put out statements and don't answer to anyone.

I know the left freaks out when Trump is covered, but that's all the left does as well. I didn't watch all of it, but Collins definitely pushed him and forced him to answer questions. If used correctly, those answers can be used against him during a campaign. The audience that came out were obviously Trump fans, but she got him on the record with quite a few things. Did anyone see his debt limit response? He admits he said it was a horrible idea to hold the country hostage with a debt limit, but then says it's alright right now because he's not president. It shows the hypocrisy and hopefully those soccer mom's that voted for him in 2016, but backed away in 2020, noticed it as well.

Crime is still an issue, but it's more property crimes that are an issue which can be correlated to the logistics involving the fact we don't have the resources to handle the influx. In part, that's why you're even seeing Democrats in south Texas push for Biden to be more active in controlling the border. Note, i'm not on a MAGA blow horn chanting 'build the wall', simply stating that it's a problem that is impacting the lives of folks in that region. Even if you believe we should welcome them all with open arms, then you need to put the resources in place to welcome them without disrupting everyone else.
-
You've argued this before and it's not as clear of a **** post as Archies', but it's still a **** post. Name 1 northern border city that is having trouble due to border related issues? Name 1 northern border city that has one of their top 5 issues related to a border issue? The border is a legit issue for several reasons, the safety of those trying to get here (god bless them), the money/industry it's creating for cartels, I won't say the safety, but the well being of folks living on the southern border, many of them minority citizens. You folks keep on thinking you're going to turn Texas blue and finally change everything for the better, yet you refuse to pay attention at the local level just because it goes against a narrative you think is a winning narrative. I don't get it.

I have mixed feelings saying this as I feel like it will make a 'funny' which doesn't seem right, but it's a 'funny' against Trump so I suspect i'll get a pass from you all. I listened to a podcast today that said legal minds said the rape case was dead on arrival to the jury due to E. Jean Carrolls own testimony. So apparently (and hopefully only) in NY, you have to have the ***** penetration for rape. She apparently testified that he stuck his fingers in her, then based on his movement, believed he penetrated her with his *****, but based on what she felt, couldn't say under oath if it was still his fingers or his pee-pee.

I'm not going to lie, I think Oswald acted alone to kill JFK, but I would not be surprised if he was a CIA Op. At the very least, I am confident that the CIA missed some major red flags and feel the release of documents would hurt their reputation. The Kennedy family was pushing for the release of the documents 25-30 years ago....

Ha, He doesn't even have that excuse, he flew P-3's before being a training pilot in another prop plane. He just sucks at driving.
-
Absolutely agree, I don't think there is any easy way out of this, but I think there is enough common ground to move towards something better. Unfortunately every shooting we see is a combination of TAPAS (thoughts and prayers and ****) and a search by party leaders to confirm their narrative.

My brother in law was a Navy pilot and he still can't drive a car correctly. He's one of those assholes that happens not to be in a f-150 though.

Biden has or at least committed 1500 active duty military to the border, which many democrats are upset about because Abbot put quite a few Texas national guard down there and they had already drawn up talking points criticizing that effort by the governor. We also have kids in cages again which apparently is OK depending on the letter next to your name.

I think it has more to do with a traditionally anti-union sentiment which helped get foreign automakers producing in this region. I remember being in Ashburn, VA around the Big 3 bailout time period and walking through the parking garage at work it seemed like I had the only domestic (probably an impala as it was a rental) at the place.

When did he ever play nice? He's committed war crimes from the start of this war. Strategically this means nothing, Bakhmut was already a shell of its former self and just the latest example of what this war is doing to Ukraine. It's Russia just trying to rub salt in the wounds. I've been skeptical of the Bakhmut strategy from Ukraine, but it's clear the 'win' Russia got in conquering and destroying this city cost them greatly. Now let's root for a Ukraine offensive that actually leads to the end of this war.

Looks like Kadyrov lived up to his word, but in true gutless fashion, sent incendiary munitions instead of men.

That being said, i'm sure the Kremlin is livid over him talking about this. I suspect Putin is hoping he accidently falls out of a hotel window, but I wonder if this guy has become one of the few that Putin can't just make that happen too.
