  1. Clarifying this for those that don't want to watch the video. When he shoots, he shoots 8 times total, but it's 7 immediate shots, pause, 8th shot.
  2. Wait, weren't you calling for the moderators to kick Archie off of this forum because of a dig at the Texas kid that went home after shooting up his school? Now that you've figured out how it fits in a narrative you agree with, comments about that are fine?
  3. It was confirmed by the sheriff yesterday that it was not the shooter. They said it was likely a plains clothes officer. Absolute smart move by the kids though.
  4. I certainly am more of a “why didn’t you just listen”, but even with that, there are various degrees. If he had a knife and no cop was there and managed to kill the clerk that was just standing there it would have been a real life version of the Austin Powers steamroll scene. IMO, you looked at the facts of Rittenhouse vs the feeling that it wasn’t right. Yes, some stuff might mitigate what that video shows. although I’m pretty sure it was a white victim and the police department already fired the guy so take that for what it’s worth. Back to the video, even if you could get me to believe the first seven shots were self defense, that eighth shot, I’m convicting on that alone.
  5. I'm not going to post the video due to the graphic nature, but pretty confident we're going to have another cop heading to jail soon in Arizona. Absolutely horrible. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59439798
  6. Haha, that's funny. You know why? Because it completely ignores all of the differences between the two incidents but allows you to continue to play a false narrative.
  7. The money aspect isn't the only weird thing about it either. I won't get the shot my doctor says is good for me, but if I happen to get sick, sure, give me the monoclonal antibody treatment which I'm guessing 99.9% of people never heard of before either.
  8. To be honest, I know most of what I post will be ignored and/or a 'but Ivanka' type response will be generated. The crazy thing is, I agree with you so much more than you realize. The biggest difference in my opinion is your party (and you) look at things in terms of black and white, which you look at as poor vs rich and conservatives look at things in urban vs. rural, which they look at as poor vs rich. IMO, poor urban and poor rural teaming up would be much more beneficial than anything we've ever seen.
  9. And some people speculate that getting covid and recovering from it might induce better immunity. With both, we don't know. If anything, we know more about vaccines and as of just recently, the CDC is recommending everyone to get a booster. 6 months ago talks of boosters was considered way to speculative. 2 weeks ago the CDC said it wasn't needed for the majority of the population, now it's everyone eligible. So, if i'm reading this right, if you're under 65 and in decent health, get vaccinated and have Covid parties to help ensure you get the disease too, that way you're super resistant? Right now, there is no evidence that serious risk from Covid weakens over time. I would venture it's likely, but the ER's aren't full of vaccinated folks that haven't gotten their booster yet. Additionally, look at Omnicron. Unless there was a serious discussion of vaccinating the world, versus just the rich countries that can afford it, at some point we have to decide if it's better to line the pockets of the CEO's of Pfizer and Moderna to ensure we deal with very mild complications for 2 days versus mild complications for 4 days.
  10. It was a comment on a ridiculous decision that was made down in Texas after a school shooting. In that case, no one died, but one was shot multiple times and had multiple surgeries before he was able to be released from the hospital. The shooter was partying (yes, his family threw a party for him) when he was released the day after the shooting. Was the comment that much different than Oblong comment on the ridiculous views on some of the far right that think more guns solve everything?
  11. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/29/cnn-host-chris-cuomo-used-sources-to-find-info-on-andrew-cuomo-accusers-records.html I have to believe this will be the last straw for Chris.
  12. There are folks out there that had Covid and as they already had it, don't want the vaccine. From a science perspective, they have a valid argument. Obviously this portion was clipped, but i'm guessing that's what she's stating, that folks that can prove they tested positive, from a science point of view, currently pose no more risk than a vaccinated person and thus, probably should be treated the same.
  13. As a non-trumper that would like good and transparent government with a media willing to hold elected officials accountable, I do want standards.
  14. What you say is true for a portion of that party, but it's not the feeling for all. Part of it is how the media treats it. Fauci supported Trump's travel bans, but the media didn't talk about that. Instead, Trump was a xenophobe. Fauci stated testing was the key to reopening travel. We now have vaccines AND testing, but Fauci is supporting Biden's worthless travel ban (everyone is convinced Omnicron is here, and the process in place to deal with it won't keep it out). Add in the lies about gain of function, which even if nothing leaked from the lab, doesn't make me fuzzy inside about Fauci deciding to lie about it.
  15. Plus this is 2021. They could airbnb a place if Biden truly demanded to be in a specific place. My uncle was secret service for years and where ever the politics of the day took the president, that steered him towards what locations/venues he needed to study/review in order to provide security.
  16. That's true. Good thing he has a friend in the Carlyle group co-founder (you know, the friend to white supremacist Glenn Youngkin.) Plus as I haven't seen it reported, Rubenstein probably didn't even charge the secret service to stay there so Biden was definitely looking out for the American tax payer. Add in that the Carlyle group doesn't compete for government contacts....oh wait, nm.
  17. All I heard was that Biden was doing his normal thanksgiving tradition with his family in Nantucket. Didn't realize he was basically playing 'mansion' at a billionaire's home. https://fortune.com/2021/11/25/president-biden-eats-thanksgiving-meal-30-million-nantucket-home-private-equity-billionaire-david-rubenstein/
  18. See, you're not being fair. You claim she doesn't act like an adult and then you try and compare her other adults. Just a few months ago she was playing with crayons and putting posters outside her office to mock her fellow constituents. This is a big deal for her, regardless of how stupid the bill itself is!
  19. I think Chris Christie is definitely running and I think this media blitz he's on is a test run. For DeSantis/Cruz/Noem, simply running against Trump will be a slap in the face to Trump and cults always follow the leader. He'll try and get in before Trump and once Trump enters, he'll indicate he's thinking about stepping down. But he'll stay in and focus on the dems, if he does say anything "bad" against Trump, like point out his age or note he'd be a lame duck president, he'll backtrack on it the next day praising Trump. He'll hope to get the folks that refuse to vote for Trump and he's looking to cash in on that even if he doesn't win the primary against Trump, he'll have the lead come 2028.
  20. Give her some credit for learning that she can introduce a bill. baby steps.
  21. I'd argue that narrative of the story allowed the facts to come out in the national media before the other, that's the main difference between them, not that one is more complex than the other. With Arbery, you saw the video, in which you could tell Arbery was trying to avoid and run past before finally engaging. You also learned they pursued him for awhile before eventually driving past him and trying to force him to stop. You also learned that the reason for him being stopped was under question as he might have just been jogging while black. To the average news watcher, it didn't seem complex. When the facts came out, everything minus that fact that he was trespassing proved to be correct, and even the trespassing is something that many people have done with new homes under construction in a neighborhood. With Kenosha, you saw a video of a bag being thrown, and then you could tell there were some shots. You were told a kid shot a BLM protester because a plastic bag was thrown at him. Then as he fled, he shot two more people. Then you heard his mom took him there, crossed state lines, had an illegal gun. Cops just let him go home and before the trial started, you heard how he did horrible things like the OK sign. Just like the Arbery case, another clear cut case, right? Unfortunately for the narrative, the trial of Rittenhouse proved to confirm he didn't violate any gun laws, even if some folks don't agree with them. In fact they showed how a DA is willing to charge him with things that weren't even illegal (gun charge). As the additional video's and facts came out, it became clear what should be done from a legal standpoint, just like the Arbery case.
  22. I came in late, but looks like both McMichael's guilty on all counts, mixed bag for the guy that was with them and filming including a guilty on felony murder.
  23. I'm not looking to argue if one is worse than the other, or even if one is worse at all. My point on Hunter is simply there are some legitimate ethical concerns, rather it's an ethical issue or not, I can't say, but in a world I'd like more, a world with a more transparent government and journalism in place to ensure that, there would be more eyes on Hunter/China and Hunter/Joe period. If electric vehicles were not a political issue and Joe had an R next to him, many of the same people saying there are no issues, would definitely want to know more about his involvement with China for the world's largest Cobalt mine and now that Dad's in charge, him using tax payer dollars to incentivize the purchase of electric vehicles. Instead you just hear that he's no longer on the board of that company. What you don't hear is that he still holds a significant stake in that company. As an example, Joe Manchin. You guys don't even like him right now. He's the reason the prescription drug plan in BBB was scaled back so much. Yet it's widely known among conservative media, and easily verifiable elsewhere, that his daughter is a pharma CEO who helped ensure inflated prices for epi-pens. Still, the left is fine with this well known fact and instead of pointing it out, they go to their constituents blaming the GOP.
  24. Archie will just play the 'imagine if Don Jr or Ivanka had that much of a financial stake in China as Hunter.' ....wasn't this a gun crimes thread?
  25. Trump tried a different tactic. Previous ones weren't really working, so with that, guess i'll give him credit. But he didn't actually accomplish anything with NK. I defended him on trade with China, which ironically involved things a more progressive person would do (tariff's), but with that too, there was no result either.
