  1. Deivi was already a statue at SS.
  2. I would think Dingler to Toledo and Crouch to Erie promotions are imminent.
  3. Classic Leyland quote, talking about Miggy eventually getting his number retired: “My Mom could have done a good job managing those guys.”
  4. Nice starts by ERod (Lakeland rehab) and Bergner (Toledo). Olson continues to struggle at Erie.
  5. Did Shep just kick Lou out of the booth? So much for the tears shed earlier.
  6. I never knew that. This was the reason I always heard.
  7. Yeah, I hated that. I’m probably Trammell’s biggest fan and figured it would not end well. I’m glad he’s part of the organization again—I didn’t know if he’d embrace us again. Gibby was better equipped to be a manager—he proved that in AZ.
  8. I understand. I’m not suggesting they scheduled it for this reason, but I’m sure they’ve embraced it as one of the few positive PR opportunities available. I’m also cynical, so take it for what it’s worth.
  9. While the jury is still out, I think the Lions might have done that successfully getting Brad Holmes from the Rams. Of course, thru also thought they were getting that when they hired Dan Quinn from the Pats.
  10. Not to take anything away from Lou’s ceremony (very deserving), but this reminds me of 2003 when the Tigers tried to use ‘84 nostalgia to deflect from the on-field dumpster fire. Deja vu all over again.
  11. Cut to Shep drying his eyes during Lou ceremony. Bally Sports is awful.
  12. Very conspicuous that neither Ilitch nor Avila were introduced. Clearly to avoid being booed mercilessly. They are on the stage but have had no role.
  13. Playing games with hiding him on the roster defeats the purpose. Either you DFA him or you make him a part of the team in some regard. I vote for the latter, but in a reduced playing time scenario. Let him retire as planned—we’ve gone this long, why sully the relationship at this point? He retires as a Tiger on his own terms. We have enough versatile position players, that we can carry a part-time DH.
  14. We’re losing our best hitter?
  15. it will be interesting to see where everyone plays and how often. We already have Santana and Sequera at 2B/SS. Wonder if Graham will see time at 3B and OF?
  16. Olson has taken steps back, so I wouldn’t put him in with the other two, but agree with your general point. Hurter looking good, too.
  17. Probably just style or personality, but Dan might be more a product of our times. Subtlety is certainly not in vogue these days.
  18. Might be out of necessity at the rate we’re going through our young pitching.
  19. Big deal—I want to know what his record was in “Pick the Stick”
  20. Tork, Keith and Jung reflect this. Maybe Greene, too. honestly, this was the only reason I was bullish on Paredes for so long.
  21. I think it coincides with our recent draftees starting to get into games this weekend.
  22. Joel Zumaya
  23. I just hope one of our new Fettery Tickets pan out.
