Yeah, I hated that. I’m probably Trammell’s biggest fan and figured it would not end well. I’m glad he’s part of the organization again—I didn’t know if he’d embrace us again. Gibby was better equipped to be a manager—he proved that in AZ.

I understand. I’m not suggesting they scheduled it for this reason, but I’m sure they’ve embraced it as one of the few positive PR opportunities available. I’m also cynical, so take it for what it’s worth.

While the jury is still out, I think the Lions might have done that successfully getting Brad Holmes from the Rams. Of course, thru also thought they were getting that when they hired Dan Quinn from the Pats.

Very conspicuous that neither Ilitch nor Avila were introduced. Clearly to avoid being booed mercilessly. They are on the stage but have had no role.

Playing games with hiding him on the roster defeats the purpose. Either you DFA him or you make him a part of the team in some regard. I vote for the latter, but in a reduced playing time scenario. Let him retire as planned—we’ve gone this long, why sully the relationship at this point? He retires as a Tiger on his own terms. We have enough versatile position players, that we can carry a part-time DH.

it will be interesting to see where everyone plays and how often. We already have Santana and Sequera at 2B/SS. Wonder if Graham will see time at 3B and OF?

Olson has taken steps back, so I wouldn’t put him in with the other two, but agree with your general point. Hurter looking good, too.

Probably just style or personality, but Dan might be more a product of our times. Subtlety is certainly not in vogue these days.
