    One of the Pods suggested that McKinstry could get squeezed (DFA’d) and tyt his salary would probably discourage another team from claiming him, allowing him to serve as insurance in Toledo, which would be the best outcome.

    Ahhh—got it. And you’re correct. In both cases, it was front office ineptitude. I think if Trout ever gets dealt, it would be to his hometown Phillies. His contract and health would make that very difficult, though.

    I don’t see the parallels. Trout has been ravaged by injuries, but keeps rehabbing and trying to get back on the field.

    For all of you Tiger podcast listeners, I had no idea the bearded one is Kieran. How does a guy who has a beard sound like his balls still haven’t dropped yet. His voice belongs with Cody’s face. This is really messing with me.

    I don’t think Javy blocks anyone long term. Tigers are going to extract as much value out of him that they can, before cutting ties once a minor leaguer pushes his way in or Sweeney excels.

    I remember reading that Tork might have played 3B at AZ State, but they had fellow future Tiger Gage Workman at third, and he was the better fielder.

    As a reminder, if the Tigers need to pivot and pursue an external RH bat, it doesn’t have to be a 3B. With Vierling’s flexibility, we can also look at RF.

    I don’t believe anything that was reported. I really doubt we offered him 6 years—I suspect our offer was similar to the Red Sox.
