  1. I think Bichette will be free agent soon..after 2025 ? So thats a no in my book to give up prospects for one year and pay him and Baez so shortstop will be like 45 million...that's a s**t ton of pizzas.
  2. Senor Smoke
  3. It's way to early to write off his bat and where he seems shy at second he has shown enough to be a very good first baseman and he has the size to play there. As Tiger337 stated he does need to walk more and of course provide better slugging which I think, and the organization surely does, the power and hit tool will eventually show.
  4. I think Keith will hit. Maybe not the prototypical First sacker but 15-20 homers, 30-40 doubles , .340 on base , great speed for a first baseman and solid defense. That's a very valuable player. We can't be greedy at this point. I say read the tea leaves and move him ASAP. That's on position filled and more important we stop wasting time at second base. My opinion. Also I "think" playing second is a real burden for him. Move him to position he plays well should allow him to relax and the hitting will follow.
  5. We should have drafted the player after Jace Jung as many of us were hoping for which was Zack Neto. I just finished watching him play four games straight at Angel Stadium and he can really play shortstop exceptionally and hit a bit. Uncle Al always chose hit over field and the result is, well, less than optimal. And watching Colt Keith three games showed me he can not play second base. He botched a simple tailor made double play but did get the guy at first so no error. He just isn’t smooth , fluid or instinctual like a middle infielder should be and his arm will never play at third base. I’m just a fan watching for 55 years but for me it’s just another waste of time. Uncle Al got lucky 🍀 sometimes but overall he had no business assembling a team. i haven’t seen Jace Jung play but a little in spring training but the printed word says he is subpar at third and just looking at the man I doubt he has any range for second base. in my book we don’t have a shortstop or third baseman in our entire system besides Javy Baez which means we need both and Scot Harris needs to make that a priority urgently or this ship will continue to list sideways.
  6. Agree and it shouldn't require trading Skubal. The same goes for 3rd base. Harris can not leave that open for a third year in the row and stop gaps, rookies who can not play the position and outfielders playing third do not count. Get a legit third sacker for 2025
  7. If we trade Skubal to the Orioles it has to start with Holiday. We are desperate for shortstop. The risk with Mayo and Bassallo is there are some doubts they can stay at third and catcher and we already have to many misfit toys.
  8. Harris also said on the podcast that it allowed him to also pay McGonigle and Wilson/Young (?) high school lefty. Which might have been said to distract from Langfords June but I tend to agree because LLM stated as much. What is melting a bit is Harris pointing out that Keith and all under 24 year olds are struggling because Langford and Churio are figuring it out.
  9. Agree 100 %. I wondered after his last start if he had indeed "turned the corner" and you're pointing out it's the fastball does seem to be the difference maker for him. As one of our 1-1 stumbles perhaps another is ascending. As Sparky used to say "the world turns over on whoever is on top every 12 hours."
  10. Almost every player the Orioles bring up rake except Holiday who had less time in the minors. We are just the opposite. Why is that ?
  11. I left after the top half of the 8th up 5-4. Does that count as seeing a win ?
  12. Great now I really can’t tag on the guy.
  13. Amen and hallelujah. It just makes too much sense. It’s so obvious to see but it still doesn’t happen. Frustrating especially sitting in the stands watching it even Captain Jack couldn’t help today.
  14. It's hard to say don't trade Player X without knowing the return. Also sometimes just let the player play out and take the draft pick. maybe not for Captain Jack since this year is lost but keep Skubal for the next two.
  15. I want to apologize in advance to the board. I will be in attendance tonight so they will lose. I go every year they are in town and it’s been six years since I have seen a victory. Fingers crossed 🤞
  16. As for the Harris podcast the question not answered for me is “ Why can’t we provide playing time for young players and still add more proven talent on short term contracts “. Why are the two mutually exclusive?
  17. I think a potential Skubull trade would net more in the off season. I doubt we sign him. I think big big pitchers contracts are off limits in Harris thinking and agree.
  18. Is it possible that Casey Mize actually turned a corner today after the first inning? He sure made a heck of an adjustment and the result was eye opening. I mean if he can get strike outs that’s like finding his holy grail isn’t it ?
  19. Most of the stuff I read suggests separate deals net a bigger return. Plus Flaherty would appeal to winners and Tork to rebuilders but having said that say you want Baltimore's Colby Mayo you might get him if you add Tork since it replenishes their minors. Can't believe I mentioned Tork in that way. Just shows how much he has disappointed. A health Carp and producing Tork sure would change our discussions though ?
  20. Hamm looks promising
  21. Keith will hit and probably enough to play first base if his doesn’t improve. And I hope they keep Urshela next year instead of McStinky. At least until we have a proven third baseman.
  22. It’s a thing now 😁😁
  23. Oh goody McStinky is playing. I guess Kreidler's 20 AB's is enough for Hinch to evaluate but he still sees upside to the "golden switch hitter". And I am not saying Kreidler looks promising but if we are evaluating this year then shouldn't he play more than platooning against the rare lefty especially since we know FOR SURE McKinstry stinks ?
