  1. Yes what is up with Meadows. Do allergies really keep player out this long or is it code for something else ?
  2. It does seem now that the Greene injury was ominous .........
  3. Do we even really know what we have in Jake Rogers ? Or don't have.
  4. When your not hitting as a team..always field your best defensive players. When your not pitching well as team..always field your best defensive team. When you are hitting well..always field your best defensive team..when your pitching well...always field your best defensive team. In Summary..keep Willi Castro the "F" off the field !!
  5. You may very well be right in the long run but maybe it's different at the start ? Probably different for each person.
  6. There are four big differences between this years team and last years teams despite similar records at this time : 1. Talent - This years team has way more talent. Witness Baez, Meadows, Erod, Barnhart, Chafin, Tork etc. 2. Injuries - Mize, Manning, Baez, Greene, Funk, Cisnereo etc. Thats quite a bit. 3. Sustainability - once injuries heal and talent/performance normalizes it should sustain at a competitive level. Last years teams required many career years and flash rookie performances to finish strong. As some here have noted they played over their heads. 4. Expectations - Per Sports_Freak - there was much higher pressure this year than last. It's much easier playing for a loser than a team expected to win. I think this contributed to them playing tight..especially the fielding and lack of clutch hitting. 8-16 sure is ugly. A .500 season now is a major accomplishment but one that is still in the offering as is an enjoyable summer of baseball.
  7. Baez and Candy homers wasted by Soto. Can’t win for losing.
  8. Now everything hurts
  9. Now my body hurts
  10. my head hurts
  11. Better keep the cash flow positive Chris I
  12. We find ourselves starting this series 6 games behind the Twins and with the worst record in the American League. I hear on the radio and read in the papers, repeatedly, about the brutal stretch of games coming up after hearing and reading about the tough April schedule and cold weather. Are they bracing us for something with the advance excuse machine fast at work ? The Al and Illitch disinformation propaganda push? Or journalists kissing butt? Tired of both. Time to start winning gentleman. I don't want to see us still in last place, Issac Paredes hitting .364, our third saker throwing games away, Meadows without any homers (yes he has been good but...), five starters hitting below .200. no power etc. Time for some key hits. Quit waiting to win games due to the other teams errors. Take 3 or 4 and get the heck going !!!!
  13. We still don't and wouldn't you make that trade ? 🙂 But seriously I am just joking since nobody could have imagined these two old guys would still be so good in 2022.
  14. Maybe our rebuild should have included signing Verlander and Scherzer to 8 year contracts. I mean even today who's better ?
  15. Lucky we got a split. Woeful offense.
  16. Meadows first HR coming now ?
  17. especially to left-hand hitters it seems
  18. Lange seems better suited to start innings rather than enter with men on. Hinch got the strike outs but not before the triple.
  19. That Baez guy is pretty good !
  20. Keep piling on...it's working !
  21. Haase survived because we need a back up catcher for some games and we are starved for power. Clemens is a utility player that can't play shortstop or centerfield so thats not very valuable. The Castros survive because we don't have anyone better and Kreidler injury also helped them.
  22. Yes without navigation I would still be circling around for sure. Maybe a night game when you could drive to the lights would be ok 😊
  23. Yes it’s a bottleneck in and out which is why so many arrive late and leave early. Dumb me had to open the doors but it’s nice to see the Tigers live every year even though they rarely win in Anaheim or LA. The park is strange in that it’s in a hole on a hill but it has a very 1960 feel about it which I Really liked. Still miss Tiger Stadium though.
  24. Yes it I sat in the oven watching more sloppy baseball. First inning Erod decides not to even attempt to cover first and then Candy bobbles a sure inning ending double play pall and then throws way way wide of first so instead of inning over another two runs come in and all the LA fans are yelling "thanks so much " "free runs" etc... And of course my daughter is melting so we leave after the seventh down 6 - 0 and watching Miggy strike out three times only to have him homer in the 8th...😂 And Grossman's HBP seemed very bad. You could hear it. It seemed like they just didn't really want to play after coming close in the first and second inning. The vibe is bad. At least I can add Dodger stadium to my check list. Hard to believe I have lived out here since 1997 and never got there sooner.
