enough to make them a playoff team? probably not unless there is some big time growth from their prospects this year. but theyre getting better.
-
i actually think that's a fair trade for both teams.
-
if the boston pick doesnt convey next year (because its top ten protected), the wings get to choose whether to send their own pick in 2024 or boston's in 2025.
-
sebrango, a 4th rounder, and either boston's first or our first, whichever is lower.
-
well....that was embarassing.

good: duren had a good game shooting wise. bad: jaden ivey was god awful. its hard to say anything about ausar because its summer league and the guard play is so bad. ivey was playing hero ball for most of the time he was in the game (and playing it badly) so ausar didnt have much to do but watch. he made a really nice pass on the break. you can tell why they think he has "basketball sense" and compete. cant say anything about his shot because we didnt get to see it thanks for ivey ball hogging. this will sound terrible but he looked like a more athletic killian sometimes. sasser made some threes. so did buddy. wiseman is the #2 pick in the draft, 2 years older than most of these guys, and playing against guys 7 inches shorter than him. you'd expect him to dominate. he was ok, but did not dominate. anthony black looked good for orlando. its a summer league game so you cant really tell anything. but what's the purpose of summer league if we cant make ridiculous assumptions based on glorified pick up games?

they've spent a ton of money re-doing wrigley on the inside (and outside). the concourses are much wider now and the food and drink choices better represent the modern day wrigley attender. in many ways, it feels like a much different place while also feeling the same. theyve done a nice job with it. they still have troughs! but theyre much nicer than they used to be. not so long ago they had nets above the lower deck seats to catch falling concrete!

you can give up on faedo as a starter. he's long relief/emergency 5th starter only material. if he can stay healthy. -

from being the "second coming of kevin durant" to a two way player in less than 3 years. congrats to emoni and his dad!

nobody else is bidding for rodney magruder.

elon is teasing me because every time i open twitter alex debrincat is trending and i get excited. and it turns out to be nothing.
-
i'm not trying to do that, i'm just saying i doubt washington gets a ton for him at the deadline. that said, they'll get SOMETHING, which is better than the nothing the tigers will get because he is no longer on their team. i didnt think it was a big deal they let him walk, but he's been better this year than i thought he would be.

you're not alone...

he can ask all he wants but i doubt they get that much for a rental third baseman who has is having half a good season.

let him cook in triple a. no need to rush him here, he'd just strike out half the time. -

i dont think not having another right handed triple a bat who cant field in the lineup is that big of a deal. so as a miggy fan boy, i will continue to say he's not really hurting the team this year. certainly not in the long run when malloy turns out to be cristian stewart: infield edition. -
i wouldnt hire van gundy. he's been out of the game too long. announcing is not coaching.

i agree with this. they are getting closer to a team that can run four lines. their "problem" remains what we all know: no top goal scorers. they still need 2 or maybe even 3 debrincats to come along. hopefully raymond takes a leap this year. as of now i dont think theyre a playoff team because the east is stacked. pittsburgh, boston, tampa, and maybe the rangers are major regression candidates in the next two years. but thinking they'll fall apart next season might be wishful thinking. i see the wings falling short next season, even if they do get debrincat UNLESS they get major leaps internally. i think those leaps are coming, but not next season. im an yzerman slappy, but i think the franchise is well positioned for the first time in a decade. i hope they dont have to give up boston's pick next year for debrincat, but even if they do, they now have meaningful prospects who are showing real promise. again, im a slappy. but im not too depressed about the wings like some people seem to be.

send him to high tax toronto or boring ass utah.

if they trade for debrincat, will all you apologize to poor stevie? lol.

we picked 9th this year. predicting were going to pick 10th to 14th is not saying were going to be good. i actually think they'll be ok next year with predictable growth from the young players and the depth they've bought this summer. if they get a debrincat they might actually finish 6th in the division next season... it's two years from now, when seider and raymond should just be entering the beginning of their primes, that they should be competing for a playoff spot. then the question will be how we get rid of chairot and holl's contracts...

you must be young. sparky anderson said ten things more ridiculous every spring training. lest we forget chris pittaro, the greatest second baseman who ever lived.
