  1. would you trade the farm for patrick mahomes or prime tom brady?
  2. brock purdy and jared goff have two of the best play callers in the nfl calling plays for them. /ducks (they still have to execute the plays...)
  3. chiarot is also an alternate captain. he's obviously a locker room presence and i dont think he's going anywhere. unfortunately. i can understand the signing because they were such a weak team and got pushed around all over the ice. but if you have him, i'm not sure bringing in holl and petry makes a ton of sense. otoh, there will be injuries and edvinsson will be first man up and will definitely be here next season unless something bad happens. in fairness, he was good in preseason but still took too many penalties and made some rookie mistakes.
  4. he's all good. played in preseason.
  5. i bought sunday ticket. its awesome. money well spent.
  6. oh well. not all gambles pay off.
  7. i'll have what he's having... 🙂 btw, i would also say the vikings are above the packers. the packers just lost bakthiari. the pats are definitely in the caleb williams sweepstakes (and you forgot the panthers...maybe you put the bears x2 since they own carolina's pick?).
  8. this is the nfl and the vikings are not bereft of talent. they werent 13-4 good and theyre not 1-4 bad. a couple smart decisions and theyre right back in the division race. getting rid of the best wide receiver in football does not help that. you build on your passing game, you dont destroy it for the off chance you get a couple low first round picks. if the vikings traded any high value player it would be kirk. but theyre not going to do that either. one first round pick and a disappointing receiver would not be enough to get me to give up a cornerstone franchise player who isnt even in his prime yet.
  9. minnesota would never make that trade. the lions would in a heartbeat.
  10. youre telling me i cant massively overreact to one preseason game? i thought this was america?
  11. i dont know. he stood in front of somebody and hand slapped him for a bit. i suppose he could have been all "chase claypool" and just did nothing, but if were counting that block as a win the bar is very very low. he's there to catch passes and run. he was wide open and dropped it. he was outplayed by the corpse of marvin jones. give him time because he's coming off his self inflicted suspension and hasnt been practicing, but that game was not a sign he's ready. if anything, it was more of the same disappointment. like you, i am still wary but hopeful.
  12. how about guys who always look bad like wiseman?
  13. san fran philly buffalo miami jacksonville seattle detroit kansas city dallas cleveland
  14. canadiens waived lindstrom in case you really wanted him back...or needes reminding how bad the wings' defense was the past few years.
  15. that "game" was....something. pistons starters got worked by the suns starters in all phases. they shot 85% from the field in the 1st quarter. the pistons did not. forget about the comeback, that was the pistons bench against the suns g-league reserves, with marvin and killian showing out against guys who will be playing in des moines next year. but since its our only real basketball to talk about, let's overreact! ausar cant shoot and it will be a problem. he can do everything else, though. and that will be fun to watch. beef stew built a house with all his bricks from 3. still undersized in the paint but still hustlin. solid role player material. speaking of roll...duren and cade are going to be good at it. marvin and killian loomed good at it too. wiseman still sucks. at everything. give me marvin over him any day, at least marvin can play a semblance of offense. wiseman just gets in the way. cade really needs to be consistent with his shooting. he looked in control on the dribble, finished well, but the shot just wasnt there outside of a small stretch against the suns bench. you have to start hitting those shots and you have to be the MAN or else this rebuild is doomed. ivey looked like ivey. made some outside shots. just watching the suns bury three after three while the pistons bricked shot after shot was disheartening.
  16. they must have a ridiculously bad offensive coordinator too! 🙂
  17. even if they gave the unsportsmanlike conduct, it would still have been kc ball. but youre right, minny is paying their bill for all their bull**** luck last year.
  18. i understand your point about williams, but josh reynolds is their best downfield receiver, imo. no knock on laporta, he's been great.
  19. regardless of all that, the lions just put 42 points on one of the better defenses in the nfl. that's impressive. especially for a team with the worst coordinators in the league... 🙂
  20. i said before the season that i will believe the lions are better than seattle (and dallas) when they beat them. they didnt. at home. its a long season and things can change quickly, but as of right now there is no evidence that the lions are better than seattle.
  21. you want the lions to not practice?
