  1. elon is teasing me because every time i open twitter alex debrincat is trending and i get excited. and it turns out to be nothing.
  2. i'm not trying to do that, i'm just saying i doubt washington gets a ton for him at the deadline. that said, they'll get SOMETHING, which is better than the nothing the tigers will get because he is no longer on their team. i didnt think it was a big deal they let him walk, but he's been better this year than i thought he would be.
  3. you're not alone...
  4. he can ask all he wants but i doubt they get that much for a rental third baseman who has is having half a good season.
  5. let him cook in triple a. no need to rush him here, he'd just strike out half the time.
  6. i dont think not having another right handed triple a bat who cant field in the lineup is that big of a deal. so as a miggy fan boy, i will continue to say he's not really hurting the team this year. certainly not in the long run when malloy turns out to be cristian stewart: infield edition.
  7. i wouldnt hire van gundy. he's been out of the game too long. announcing is not coaching.
  8. i agree with this. they are getting closer to a team that can run four lines. their "problem" remains what we all know: no top goal scorers. they still need 2 or maybe even 3 debrincats to come along. hopefully raymond takes a leap this year. as of now i dont think theyre a playoff team because the east is stacked. pittsburgh, boston, tampa, and maybe the rangers are major regression candidates in the next two years. but thinking they'll fall apart next season might be wishful thinking. i see the wings falling short next season, even if they do get debrincat UNLESS they get major leaps internally. i think those leaps are coming, but not next season. im an yzerman slappy, but i think the franchise is well positioned for the first time in a decade. i hope they dont have to give up boston's pick next year for debrincat, but even if they do, they now have meaningful prospects who are showing real promise. again, im a slappy. but im not too depressed about the wings like some people seem to be.
  9. send him to high tax toronto or boring ass utah.
  10. if they trade for debrincat, will all you apologize to poor stevie? lol.
  11. we picked 9th this year. predicting were going to pick 10th to 14th is not saying were going to be good. i actually think they'll be ok next year with predictable growth from the young players and the depth they've bought this summer. if they get a debrincat they might actually finish 6th in the division next season... it's two years from now, when seider and raymond should just be entering the beginning of their primes, that they should be competing for a playoff spot. then the question will be how we get rid of chairot and holl's contracts...
  12. you must be young. sparky anderson said ten things more ridiculous every spring training. lest we forget chris pittaro, the greatest second baseman who ever lived.
  13. he set off some fireworks like many americans do. i dont think that means he's stupid, it just means he likes fireworks. he's young and rich, he's gonna do a lot of the things young men do. that said, his agent should probably have a conversation with him about risk.
  14. one of JEIII's podcasts said sasser is definitely not 6 feet tall. maybe 5'11 on a good day.
  15. report that the wings will terminate zadina's contract and he won't contest it. he wants out so badly he's willing to walk away from the $4 million left on the deal.
  16. barring big injuries like last year they'll be in the 10-14 range, imo.
  17. they're overachieving in my book. they dont have much talent on the team to begin with, their best player is hurt, and all their pitchers have been hurt. the fact that theyre not the a's or royals is overachieving to me.
  18. i cant imagine being this angry about a rebuilding tigers team. dude, this team is overachieving right now.
  19. steve yzerman 2023: "you try and trade him."
  20. i think zadina plays very hard, and he improved a lot on defense (starting from zero). but he's small, not particularly fast, and cant shoot the puck anywhere but at the goalie. his biggest weakness was supposed to be his biggest strength: shooting. ras wasnt injured when he was stuck in the minors because he sucked. and he sucked again when he made it up. now he looks like he could be a valuable third liner or maybe even a second line player if he can get into the corners. but you talk about ras's injuries but not zadina's? the guy has been hurt most of his career.
  21. i dont even know what that means. the pick was obviously a mistake. but ken holland made it, what did we expect? did you think the rasmussen bridge contract was bad at the time? he was just as bad as zadina during his first few years too.
  22. that's a small, and fair, bridge contract for the former #6 pick in the draft. and everyone said so at the time.
  23. zadina was the #6 pick in the draft. signing him to a small bridge contract was the right thing to do.
  24. brandon miller looks selfish on offense and lazy on defense. dude is already in full nba regular season form.
