  1. del, he's white. they cant interview a white coach. those guys cant win in this league...
  2. holy cow. javy baez got a walk? miracles.
  3. we are all hawks fans tonight. a hawks win makes pittsburgh less likely to make the playoffs and the hawks less likely to get conor bedard.
  4. roquan smith went for a low second round pick. anything more than that is an overpay for white.
  5. i mean...ANYTHING is possible. that would be extremely unlikely.
  6. what about the past decade would lead you to take the pistons seriously as an organization?
  7. i thought okudah was a good pick. wrong again.
  8. i think they were always going to draft a db (or two). they dont have much depth there at all beyond this year. melifonwu has shown zero evidence he is an nfl player so far. not at safety and definitely not at corner. huge year for him and - if they draft multiple dbs - he may not even make the team.
  9. kevin ollie? good lord, why?
  10. if history is any guide, weaver has a 6'11 player who cant shoot up his sleeve... (that player is not victor, who hopefully is up the other sleeve)
  11. no: bulls, celtics, memphis, clippers, minnesota, lakers. not really rooting for anyone.
  12. okudah wasnt very good. good luck to him in atlanta. i wonder if things would have been different if he hadnt been injured? we'll never know.
  13. speaking of oline, dan brugler has his top 100 out and his draft guide available on the athletic. its quite thorough and a good read. he has young 1, anderson 2, and carter 3. richardson is 13. skowronski is 7 but he has him as a guard, not a tackle.
  14. hamadou diallo is the type of player who should always be renting...
  15. the islanders losing is helping too.
  16. im getting too excited about lombardi and mazur. but if either of those guys hits and becomes a major contributor, they are well on their way in the rebuild. now, just tank the last two games and then get a top 2 pick. simple!
  17. they have until may to pick up his 5th year option. i doubt they do it. yes, he's been injured, but that can also explain his lack of performance (im not sure it does, but maybe). but regardless, he has been injured and may simply not be the same player physically he was when he was drafted. he may have lost more than a step because of his injury. a lot of the things i hear about okudah is that he lacks confidence and thinks too much rather than reacting. which is why i still think he could be a good safety. sitting back and watching things develop. he looked so good in the box against dallas which really helped their run defense that day, i have to think he might be in line for a position switch.
  18. they have no guards signed past this year. IOL is a big need. same thing with cornerbacks. with okudah washing out they have little in reserve past this year. dt is also a need but less of a long term need because they have guys who can play multiple spots on the dline. but like you said, it is one spot where they have an immediate need for an impact player.
  19. i trust holmes, so yes.
  20. another thing to think about, ben johnson is likely gone next year if the lions are good this season. aaron glenn too. does that affect how they think about goff or what kind of players they draft on defense this year?
  21. no one is going to pay okudah that kind of money unless he tears it up this year. the lions have effectively replaced him already. they benched him last year. he isnt good. if he suddenly becomes good, they can try to sign him, but im not going to pay him that kind of money just because he was drafted high. and neither will anyone else. i dont see any way they pick up that option. spend the money on getting another good player, not on a hope that okudah can suddenly figure it out in year 5.
  22. if carter is there at 6 and the lions pass on him, you have to think there are some things in his character that bother them. and then the eagles will take him at 10 if he makes it past the bears at 9.
  23. all solid points, but i take issue with the "4th or 5th best qb in the draft." if they think any of richardson/young/stroud have great ability and theyre there at 6, then they have to consider taking them. qb 1, 2, or 3 on the lions board could be different than on others board. if youre talking qb 5 (somebody like tanner mckee in round 3), that's probably not a pick i would make.
  24. $11.5 million for okudah is NOT worth it. do not pick up that option. let him earn that extension.
  25. and it only gets worse...
