athletic latest mock has us taking dvorsky and zach benson in round one. would you gamble on mitchkov if he falls to 9?
-
hopkins is interested in money. everything else is secondary. he could be good for detroit. if they are worried about cap space and signing guys, id rather have them get another defensive tackle than a wr.
-
shockingly, money wins out over "time with family"...
-
wiseman is all of andre drummond's bad habits (selfish, doesnt understand his limitations or strengths, lazy) and none of his strengths (massive body, rebounding machine). he has height and the pedigree of being a top 5 pick. that's it.
-
i understand your point, but wiseman for $12 mil to backup duren is a waste of resources. the only good thing about james wiseman is that they can include him in trade proposals because he makes a good amount of money and teams can just cut him next year when they need space. as long as troy doesnt give him an extension. that would be disastrous.
-
he's attracted by big, shiny toys. monty is a big shiny toy. so was stan. i think this has a better chance of working out because monty is there to coach and nothing else. stan was put into a role he was not suited to handle.
-
wiseman was one of the worst players in the nba last season. he does nothing on defense and all he does on offense is search out his own shot and get in everyone else's way. slow, dumb, and selfish is no way to go through life, son. - dean wormer (probably)
-
if monty likes teams that can move the ball quickly, shoot and play defense, it doesnt bode well for the future of wiseman and bagley.
-
the deal could get up to $100 million with incentives??? good lord. hey, its not my money.
-
holy cow that's a lot of money for a 30 win season.
-
i'm rethinking my monty love. i guess i am happy its NOT kevin ollie for all the reasons people have against him (no one else seems interested...). im disappointed quinn didnt even get a look. i am very wary of tom gores making this decision. as many problems as i have with weaver, i trust him more than tom gores. gores gave us svg as president, gm, and coach. him hiring monty could just be him "big game hunting" in an area he knows nothing about. i wonder if JEIII's reporting on all this is accurate? i imagine his source is either weaver or someone real close to him. did gores undercut weaver, or did monty's sudden availability change everything? maybe ollie never really was weaver's guy now that lee is the next man up? so many questions. btw, how embarassing is it if monty turns down $10 mil a year to coach your team?

let me know when he improves his changeup.

would you trade for jaylen brown?
-
serves them right for cheating to get him. so to assemble this grand team, they were docked a second rounder for tampering with Ball, gave up a first rounder to san antonio for derozan, gave up multiple first rounders for vucevic, and gave a supermax contract to lavine, and all they got out of it was one win in the first round before losing 4 straight. now theyre talking of dealing lavine to the blazers and breaking it up.

nick nurse to the sixers.

sox message boards this week have been GLORIOUS! -
if they do get tatum, they might lose marshall. regardless, that would be an amazing get for michigan. although we do have a horrible history when it comes to 5* running backs.
-
kind of surprised i havent seen anyone link hopkins to detroit.
-
he's still getting paid by phoenix, so he'll probably just chill.
-
all the gun stuff will only make him more popular.
-
because you can get really good production from average running backs. their production is more oline dependent. look at saquon barkley, supremely talented but is not the offensive game changer people thought he would be and probably has not justified the #2 draft position. again, gibbs is (hopefully) a different animal. hopefully he gives us what swift only gave us in fits and starts because he was never healthy. that is a pass catching back AND someone who can run between the tackles. that player is valuable no matter the shelf life. as for this year's draft, the only offensive player i would have taken at that point in the draft over gibbs (12th) was JSN. you can make an argument for either one.

wasnt this one of tom gores' businesses? the one he had to apologize for and said he was going to educate himself on post george floyd riots?
