  1. i cannot believe erod would agree to void the contract. he's guaranteed this money and he will never get it again without this contract. if things are THAT messed up in his life that he's thinking about doing that, then he's really in a dark place. all the tigers can do - and should do - is offer their support and assistance.
  2. the league consensus on nazar is all over the map, from 5th to 25th. he's small but fast. some say he has high compete, some say he doesnt. prashanth had him to the wings at 8. lots of people do. i think i'd rather have savoie, but if they picked nazar i'd be fine with it. they need speed.
  3. its not like he was setting the league on fire before all this happened.
  4. that sucks. but there are a lot of teams that cant afford tkachuk that might be interested in bert cause bert would be a much cheaper option than tkachuk. if youre toronto, how do you get tkachuk? you really cant. but if you movr mrazekk, maybe a prospect and maybe a pick you can get bert. who knows. we (meaning me) focus in on detroit more than anyone else, but there are lots of other teams with some cap space and some vets who can make these trades too.
  5. if the tigers are going to make a move and salvage something out of this season, this is the period to get it done. 12 road games, all against the division including 4 against the royals. if youre going to make a move, it has to be now. i dont think it will happen, but if it has any hope of happening...
  6. buffalo has 9/16/28 and may be ready to make a more "win now" move. would you move bertuzzi for any of those picks?
  7. that's another tough finish.
  8. a conditional 5th! browns gonna brown.
  9. i'd be happy with savoie. honestly, given their recent track record, i'd be happy with whomever they pick because i trust them. among the realistic possibilities (assuming jarlovsky, wright, cooley, jiricik, nemec) are all gone, i want gautier, savoie, kemell, nazar. out of the box pick: lian bischell. for some reason he reminds me of seider: big, good skater, pkus defender who was said to have limited offensive ability. not necessarily at 8, but maybe later. yes, we are now loaded with those guys on defense, but maybe he's a guy we trade back into round one to get.
  10. the people who always chant about "personal responsibility" when black people are involved are now the first people to bring up "social conditions" when white kids are doing it.
  11. we all know how hard it is to find a quality nhl center. those guys dont get traded often for a reason: its a hard position to fill. larkin isnt jack eichel, but he's still very good and a borderline all star AND he's a captain. if he's going to get traded its for an eichel-like haul. honestly, its why i wouldnt trade him. unless his contract demand is Taveras-like and/or stevie really thinks the team will have no shot until larkin is 35.
  12. i bet gautier goes top 5. all this is good news that one of the top players may fall to 8. one of the two top defensemen would be nice: nemec or jiricic.
  13. rossi would be the starting point for the conversation that would involve multiple prospects and at least their first round pick next year.
  14. knowing illinois, its part bureaucratic incompetence and part poorly written laws. regardless, its the same old song and dance whenever something like this happens. "well, if only we had known he was dangerous we never would have allowed him to have a gun." sure. funny how it always seems to happen that way.
  15. https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/AppealOptions.aspx here's a list of revocation reasons.
  16. that's a good question. i dont know the answer.
  17. i think he signs a new deal here.
  18. chet. ballin.
  19. if the tigers had a 25 year old outfielder who hit 320/404/577, you'd all be going bananas right now. higgy was pretty good for a number of years for some pretty bad teams. we all remember "you try and trade em", but he was a good player for awhile.
  20. i dont think its good or bad, its just different.
  21. his death had nothing to do with his brain. it was a separate seizure issue.
  22. oregon and washington would be dumb to take that deal. wait for the big ten. or sign some easy to break agreement for when the big ten finally hears from notre dame.
