  1. lavine will cost nothing but money if theyre smart about it. the bulls have been openly trying to get rid of him and had no takers. (im not advocating for lavine, but i can see these idiots dealing ivey for him when theyre basically the same player only lavine is the fully developed version and ivey is still a pup) last year you had guys like divencenzo and coby white available. two years ago malik monk was available. guys you could have had for less than $10m who dramatically outplayed their deals and would have brought shooting to a team desperate for shooting. these are the types of guys they should be looking for this year, not taking on joe harris for two seconds.
  2. good defender. agitator who gets under the other team's skin. i hate him. he's a cancer.
  3. and what real difference does adding a president of basketball operations on top of all this mean? JUST FIRE WEAVER! why add another layer of bureaucracy on top of the multiple layers you already have? tom gores just doesnt care. i dont understand how a guy who made billions by taking distressed properties, stripping them of excess management and labor and making them profitable, is doing the exact opposite in detroit. makes me wonder if they just got lucky with the other businesses too. bought them at the right time for cheap and then naturally watched the value grow? that's all he's done with the pistons. he's done nothing but make one bad decision after another for 15 years and the team has increased in value 10 fold.
  4. JEIII's latest is the ol' make an offer to the beat writer for another team for a trade. each beat writer basically said "no way." the pistons dont have the assets to trade for an available GOOD player, much less an available STAR player. duren and this year's #1 for ingram and the pels' #1. nope. duren and fournier for poetl, bruce brown and a #1 pick this year. nope. duren, ivey, and this year's #1 pick for lauri markkanen. nope. with a big ol' laughing emoji that this wouldnt even be CLOSE to what they would want for markkanen. five frp/frs is what it would take or maybe 3 first round picks and cade. similar to the donovan mitchell trade. these are just beat writers, but the overall tenor is that the pistons' assets are not looked at as valuable other than cade and maybe isaiah stewart. this year's number one is not worth much because the draft class sucks, and ivey, duren, etc are not seen as valuable players. and we cant trade future ones because we still owe one to the knicks. we are four years into the worst rebuild in nba history and we have very few assets and NEGATIVE draft capital. the incompetence of this front office is amazing, matched only by the incompetence of ownership in keeping it around.
  5. one of toronto's big three if they lose game 7 in boston. winnipeg may be willing to trade a player to get off some salary. sign guentzel?
  6. the wings could use the cap space to chase a difference maker. or deal some prospects for a star.
  7. i thought danielson stood out in the preseason games LAST year. like some here, i almost expect him to make the team out of camp next year. and if not, he'll be up sometime in the season. then again, they made edvinsson wait all year when he was a clear upgrade on what they had. i forgot about justin holl on defense, lol. easy to forget him.
  8. theyre going to have to make some deals or eat some money to get all the kids up next year. berggren and johannson are out of options. mazur and kasper are chomping at the bit. danielson looks amazing. who are your lines? debrincat-larkin-raymond blank-compher-blank fabbri-copp-rasmussen blank-blank-blank that's taking out kane, perron, fischer, sprong, and veleno because theyre all free agents. i dont know if you want that many rookies. it looks like they want perron back, maybe on kane, yes on fischer, and maybe on veleno, no on sprong. defense: walman-seider edvinsson-chairot petry-maata johannson that's with ghost being a free agent. goal: husso/lyon i'm thinking that cutting husso or ltir may be his destiny. he's hurt an awful lot.
  9. i think the lions had a brilliant draft considering where they were picking. bears took the obvious #1 pick and a receiver everyone liked. i also remember the same things being said about trevor lawrence and while he's been good - great at times - he hasnt been patrick mahomes. we'll see about the bears. they are a lousy organization, but sometimes they luck themselves into good teams. hopefully this is not one of those times.
  10. detroit fans know this very well.
  11. relevant for what reason? theyre a clown show that got housed the minute they stepped up in competition. it will be the same thing next year. shedeur can probably win them some games with his ability, but not against good teams. that team is nothing but mercenaries who dont care about winning, their only concern is themselves. and that starts with the coach. deion is the same way, a selfish narcissist. and you have a qb who is obviously favored by the coach and who only cares about himself. he'll throw the team under the bus when they dont play well, he'll sulk. no one will want to give it all for a guy like that. not to mention the lack of talent up front. it takes a while to build a solid oline. you cant just import pieces in the portal every year.
  12. most first team all pros by lions draftees (only players who actually played for the lions, so no otto graham, johnny robinson, ya tittle...): joe schmidt 8 barry 6 jack christensen 6 d*ck stanfel 5 suh 3 karras 3 calvin 3 herman moore 3 yale lary 3
  13. you got two first team all pros in the same draft. that's more than the previous ten years of lions' drafts combined (special teamers dont count). you got one really good starter at a premium position (mcneil), two players who developed in solid starters in year 3 (barnes and iffy) and one second round bust. previous lions drafrs have resulted in one great player (barry calvin, suh, herman moore, lem barney, charlie sanders) or two very good players (blades/spielman, brown/glover), but none of them had multiple first team all pros by third year guys. not pro bowls, first team all pros. that's an amazing class. this is a hall of fame draft class and is probably the best lions draft class since 1958 (alex karras and wayne walker).
  14. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40064987/deion-sanders-shedeur-sanders-clap-back-colorado-critics deion sanders continues to be a bad, small, petty person. why anyone would send their kid to colorado is beyond me. theyre not even good at football.
  15. brugler rated the lions draft as #3 in the league. bears were #1.
  16. btw, lebron walked off the floor without shaking hands with the nuggets last night. i'm sure there will be a federal inquest into this outrageous behavior like there was when isiah did it.
  17. unless he's going to wean himself off PEDs, i think he'll be ok.
  18. he's been railing against JJ for the entire process. so the guy that said jimmy clausen was a future hall of famer gave the vikings a D for taking mccarthy.
  19. you dont trade a player like that in a super bowl window. and you cant pay everybody.
