6x5.1 for marchand. provorov for that kind of money is nuts.
-
from sam: "But when multiple NBA executives before the draft tell me they hope they’re the ones who can take advantage of the stupid trade the Pelicans will make under Joe Dumars and Weaver, and then a stupid trade happens, it’s hard to have much hope." lol. we feel your pain, new orleans.

he's taken a bit of heat for keeping lalonde too long. deservedly so.
-
8x6.1 for ekblad. huge discount.

yzerman has had one bad offseason, imo. he's situating the team to be competitive in seider/raymond's prime. he's done nothing to mess up that timeline....yet.

getting rid of tarasenko for nothing just made my day. i dont care if he bounces back, he was terrible last year and one of the big reasons they missed the playoffs.
-
hard to believe he would be open to a detroit extension if he turned down all those other teams. especially since he got hurt here, lol.

my 10 year old got school tickets to a wnba game. my wife took her - there is no way i'm going to a wnba game - and she said it wasnt that bad. she doesnt get offended by bad basketball like i do. but the place was 3/4 full and my wife described the crowd as "what you'd expect for the most part: dykes and tykes." not that there's anything wrong with that! when caitlin clark comes to town the place sells out. fwiw, the players were all very nice to the kids. good to see.

how big is wayne state? the chicago team plays at depaul's arena and it seats about 10k. they get about 8k per game.
-
i think that's obvious. sometimes i think it saves stevie from himself: stamkos, trouba. detroit is on a lot of no trade lists, i imagine. gavrikov is so strongly rumored to be in either new york or LA, you have to imagine that's where he ends up. detroit could be a destination for some cap dumps because of other moving pieces. detroit hasnt been a destination since suter/parise turned us down.

i agree. the only caveat i have is that i would be ok if we see mazur/danielson/and at least one of wallinder or buium on the team. what i DONT want to see is spending term on middling stop gaps. that's how we end up with holl, compher, and tarasenko. i've gone back and forth on buy outs. if theyre not spending on gavrikov or marner (ha!) or even ehlers (who i dont want) this year or trading for someone they need to sign long term (like a miller or byram), then just waive holl and send him to GR and hope for a rebound with tarasenko. no need to saddle them with an extra cap hit next offseason.

4x5.5 for hague. wings were linked to him before but they passed, apparently.
-
michigan's picking it up on the recruiting trail.
-
ayton gets bought out by portland.
-
would you trade for him if you were detroit?
-
lucas raymond is going to end up being one of the best contracts in the league.

6x7.75 for knies
-
this is the best news the pistons could have received on beasley. 1) prevents them from doing something stupid like signing him to a mulyi-year contract; 2) lowers his leverage for a shorter deal.
-
why santi?
-
stevie on tv saying he's not optimistic about free agency but is still looking to make some trades. too few players being chased by too many teams.
-
its because stevie knows next year's 7th round will be stacked! yzerplan in full effect.
-
oh sloth. sloth sloth sloth....
-
trade cossa while he still has some value!

correction: 2027 2nd 2026 4th

2026 second 2027 4th that second is going to hurt but we needed them to take mrazek's salary. makes me wonder why they traded for mrazek at the deadline. i guess to have some sort of backup plan if they couldnt make a deal. gibson's an upgrade if he can stay healthy.
