  1. I have no idea why but I get a kick out of Givani always getting uber aggressive after whistles, the other teams must hate him
  2. I think my new strategy is to pick up the opposing goalie in fantasy hockey so I curse them, Bert from Fabbri makes it 1-0
  3. Been up for over two hours, I want to cry lol
  4. I feel like with my insomnia being crazy right now there is a 50/50 chance I sleep through this game with the start time, yikes!
  5. Wallinder picked up a couple assists in his last game, moving him into the scoring lead for junior players in the SHL. Kronwall was in attendance too, here's a roughly translated Swedish article on it with a little interview https://www-expressen-se.translate.goog/kvallsposten/sport/hockey/imponerade-framfor-ogonen-pa-kronwall-/?_x_tr_sl=sv&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp He says Kronwall has probably checked in on him 5 times or so this season in person which is pretty cool. It is nice to see the Wings' player development working so closely with players even when overseas.
  6. They both play the right side so I can't imagine they have. It is kind of funny how it used to be that the Wings couldn't buy a decent right handed shot on the free agent market under Babcock now all of their actual longer term pieces (Seider, Hronek, Lindstrom) are all right handed and the lefties are on their way out (DeKeyser, Staal, Oesterle). So if we think Hronek can figure it out I think the Wings have the makings of a solid right side on the defense corps. Luckily Edvinsson and Wallinder both shoot left handed 🤠
  7. I realize I'm in the minority here so I usually don't voice this opinion but I think he's generally been pretty solid for what he's asked to do. He isn't very sheltered by Blashill (Lindstrom starts a larger percentage of his shifts in the defensive zone than Hronek, it's close but that gives you a reference point), and while he doesn't do anything insanely well he does a good amount of little things that often can lead to good results (at least in my opinion). Things like quick passes in zone to start a transition or being the best defender on the team at getting his shot unblocked and on net from the point (at least from what the advanced stats look like). I think he can be a solid bottom pairing guy for the team for a bit. I may be biased because his hockey cards are cheap on the resale market so I have a nice collection going of him 😂
  8. Guess who picked up Carter Hart for his fantasy team, whoopsie
  9. Seider is so much fun to watch, he just had a great sequence with the puck on the penalty kill
  10. This game is wild
  11. Suter!! This old juniors line is buzzin tonight
  12. DeKeyser was all alone in the high slot and he tried to shoot the puck through Carter's chest. That man is frustrating!
  13. Raymond scores to make it 2-!! They also changed the first goal to Bertuzzi's. Wow it is now 2-2...
  14. ...Flyers score on their first shot questionable challenge by Blashill on interference, goal is a good goal
  15. Larkin banks it in off a defenseman's skate for a pp goal!!
  16. Second line with a nice shift too, drawing a penalty. Nice to see the Wings actually start on time after the break.
  17. Zadina's first shift on the top line was solid, hopefully he keeps it up
  18. I think a handful of the Americans from the Chinese KHL team are playing for the Chinese National Team. Without them i imagine they wouldn't be very competitive.
  19. I honestly felt pleasantly surprised they were at 7 after both Seider and Raymond "graduated" from the list. Losing your two top prospects from your pool is going to thin any team out. Ned shows some promise in net as well so they have some young pieces around. The next couple drafts will be interesting to see who they can get in the first couple rounds and how ready they are for the NHL.
  20. Wheeler at the Athletic has the Wings at 7th best prospect pool, the write ups are much longer here are some excerpts: 11. Jared McIssac 12. Antti Tuomisto 13. Shai Buium 14. Liam Dower Nilsson 15. Eemil Viro 16. Robert Mastrosimone 17. Red Savage 18. Alex Cotton 19. Pasquale Zito 20. Otto Kivenmaki
  21. He's been out with a wrist injury
  22. I don't mind Staal, I think if younger guys are knocking on the door they might let him go but I have a tough time predicting what Stevie is going to do
  23. Veleno goal from Gagne/Gemel Smith https://streamable.com/igbljo
  24. Leddy and DeKeyser are both free agents after this season, Oesterle has another season on his deal. Staal is also done after this season. McIsaac supposedly looks solid in Grand Rapids.
  25. The Kings empty netter https://streamable.com/qyq7is
