I think Sports Freak’s intent was to hold a player back to avoid an injury before it happens. He can correct me if I misstated his point. At least that was my take.

My impression is that he has meshed well with the personnel on this team, from the staff down. The Tigers just don’t have a lot in the system to backfill for lost pitching. The Tigers have had Flaherty since spring training and seem to be happy with him. I’d really like to see him stay. Without Skubal’s incredible year, Flaherty would be the clear ace on this team.

I don’t see Flaherty even being on a bullpen mound in a Tigers uniform again. I’m realistically confident Harris has something in the works regarding a trade involving Flaherty. I would have to believe any team involved in a conversation involving a trade for Flaherty would ask that Flaherty not be used prior to a potential trade at this point. The risk to the potential trade isn’t worth taking.

It is but I don’t know how likely a pitcher is to win it.

The Giants are going to be one of the more interesting teams at the deadline. Farhan Zaidi has some big decisions to make. Chapman and Snell have opt-outs this year.

Meaning he could have been gone before the end of the game at this point. Flaherty has probably made his last start as a Tiger. I really liked Flaherty here. He came with some some questions but he has exceeded expectations entirely.

It’s been unbelievable how Blake Snell went from a total disaster trade for SF to one of the top names out there for a top tier pitcher trade wise at the deadline. He has been lights out his last three starts.

Paredes has played first base a bit this year. He’d be a solid corner guy on either side of the infield.

I believe the polls will determine whether or not he’ll debate her. Kind of the flip side of your point, if he trails in the polls by a margin that doesn’t favor his campaign, I think he debates her. Sort of a “get out of jail” card if you will. Yes, the pun is there. If he is up a comfortable percentage, I could see him saying no to a debate. However, your last sentence will likely win out.
