So, they are 38-50 when he doesn't play. So, they that makes them .432 when he does play and .625 when he does play. Over 162 games, they go from a 70 win team to a 100 win team win he plays. Even Willie Mays can't do that! Meadows has been good especially defensively, but not THAT good. A lot of the wins came early in the year when Meadows was doing poorly and other players were reponsible for wins. I'm going to say 35-21 is a small part due to Meadows but mostly due to other factors.

The prices aren't ever coming down. They will just go up at a slower rate. Companies have seen that people are willing to pay higher prices for things they want/need. They aren't going to lower them even if economic forces allow them too.

Absolutely correct. I don't think this is unusual. The party in power is always going to be blamed/given credit for the economy. It's stupid, but that's how it has always been. What's going to happen next is people not recognizing that inflation has beeing getting under control over the past year. Then if Trump gets elected, they'll eventually feel the effects of something that was already in motion and Trump will get credit for it.

I don't think she is totally phoney, but I don't think she's any more genuine than your average politician. Still, I think she does have some compassion and human qualities. Trump doesn't have any of that. In fact, he thinks those qualities are weak and so do a lot of his supporters.

I really don't think he has a lot of value now. While Harris may have an eye for talent, he doesn't strike me as a great salesman who is going to be able to talk up a player like Torkelson enough to get teams to want to give up much for him. He may be able to trade him for another failing young player who needs a change of scenery.

I agree on Mize. In fact, I expect him to be one of their top five starters next year. I wouldn't necessarily drop Torkelson either, but I am expecting less from him.

You asked me for one good reason why he should be on the team. I answered WHIP because I think pitchers that don't allow a lot of base runners have a place on a team. If you asked me to give you a reason why the Tigers should accept his option for 2025, I would not have give you a reason. Miller has won six games for the Tigers this year, third on the team! 😃

If they can't find a cheap right-handed hitter batter (who can't field) better than Torkelson this off season, then Harris isn't the genius people are making him out to be. The only reason to keep Torkelson is if you think you can fix him.

His 0.94 WHIP is one good reason. So, he must be getting somebody out. My point was that the starters don't pitch enough innings, so that the relievers get over worked and Hinch is sometimes forced to use pitchers in spots where they are not best suited. Even with that, I think Hinch has managed the staff brilliantly.

I would say that not having starters who can pitch a lot of innings and not having great high leverage relievers is the reason. Given that, I think Hinch has handled the staff masterfully.

And looking back at the Torkelson draft, there isn't really a lot there to get excited about. At least not yet. Not every draft has a huge impact player.

I wanted Alec Bohm just because I always want position players. I don't really think most fans know enough about college and high school players to legitimately criicize the picks though. I admit I don't.
