One thing is that he wouldn't be easily duped by dictators of other countries. He wouldn't make us the laughingstock of the world with his idiocy. Would he alienate more than half the country by "owning the libs" or would he become more moderate as President than he is as governor of a red state?

That is probably best. Being rushed to the Majors (due to Rule 5) may be the reason for his shortcomings. If not for Rule 5, he probably would have spent last year in AA and this year in AAA.

Drafting is a different skill set from other GM duties. Drafting requires good scouting and doing the work to determine the order in which players should be drafted. Trading requires more negotiation and deal making which someone might not be good at even if they know who to target. This is an oversimplification, but I can definitely see where someone could be competent in one and incompetent in the other.
