  1. Benetti is a good play by play man. He is intelligent and sometimes humorous, but I think he over does the pop culture stuff for my tastes. He is better with a straight man like Petry than Dirks who pushes him even further onto a tangent. I do think Benetti is better than anyone they've had on TV for a long time. Benetti/Petry and Dickerson/Dirks are their best combos.
  2. Enter your zip code.
  3. Wait? Trump attended Les Miserables? Is that the cartoon version?
  4. It's so easy. The hardest part is getting the machine to accept your credit card. I like it better than dealing with an attendant.
  5. I think the success rate of TJ surgery is over blown. Most pitchers return, and can be successful, but a lot of them lack the durability and velocity they had previously. The idea that TJ surgery makes pitchers stronger is a myth. It's the intense rehab and change in mechanics that can sometimes make them stronger.
  6. What are the chances they ever see that money?
  7. He actually did pump gas as a job before signing with the Tigers. He was my all-time favorite Tigers personality and it was all totally natural. He used to show up as a guest at baseball camps and such in my area after retiremement, so I got a chance to see him in action in a non-professional situation and he was no different that the guy we saw pitching for the Tigers. He was the best.
  8. Farmer sucked and be became overrated after one pretty good year. He's actually been a little better since leaving the Tigers.
  9. He usually does not show poor taste. I didn't see the post, but we all know he has a tendancy to not let go of stuff. He never liked the Jobe draft.
  10. You could do that in post-season with all the days off.
  11. Your mistake was having any respect for Trump.
  12. But they are orderly homicides.
  13. I remember a lot of people were blaming it on the Tigers striking out too much, but yes it was the pitching The all or nothing offense could have sustained them if they had decent pitching.
  14. That was my assumption since Matt is injured.
  15. I am just a little leery about travel now, but there is a non-zero chance ICE might target me because they think I look like an Iranian. I am not REALLY worried about it, but I believe the chances of that happening, however small they may be, are at least as big as my being attacked by an undocumented immigrant.
  16. I'd be happy if the Tigers got him.
  17. Does that come from seeing it on TV, past experience or word of mouth/keyboard?
  18. I agree it's mostly about winning, but some winning teams do better than others as do some losing teams. I think having an appealing ballpark and having exciting players plays a role. I woud agree that fans seeing empty seats doesn't matter. I can't imagine a fan not buying tickets because they they saw empty seats on TV.
  19. Bregman would have to be fully healthy and performing for at least a week prior to the deadline. If he is and Vierling is not healthy, then I could see them adding Bregman for the stretch drive and post-season. If everyone is healthy at the deadline, I think they will just add pitching help.
  20. That is true of most teams. Every team would love to have an all-star at every position, but that's almost impossible to do. Platooning and pinch hitting is a function of necessity rather than design. Even so, knowing how to do it effectively is a valuable manager skill.
  21. That probably won't be great for the discussion, but it will probably be good for the site and help keep it funded. Edman's going to be scolding everyone though.
  22. I think he and Shelton left at around the same time.
  23. Nobody that matters will care, but that was excellent.
