  1. Rodriguez and Brookens had a few average years, but they played regulary for too long, so stability may not have been a good thing in their cases. When they lost their fielding skills, they became useless.
  2. It wouldn't be the Tigers if there wasn't a question about third base. It'd been their weakest position historically.
  3. I am interested to see what Dingler does playing regularly. On the other hand, much has been said about how Rogers works with the pitching staff. It didn't hurt them yesterday.
  4. That is probably accurate. Overall, I am seeing more good than bad. If Torkelson and Mize are for real, which is very possible, that makes a huge difference. If Sweeney shows that he can be the regular starting shortstop, that solves a big problem. My biggest concern now is how long Meadows will be out. The other cocern is their bullpen, but that can be amelioarted by Hinch's management. It's also the easiest thng to fix at the deadline if necessary.
  5. They believe that main street will suffer briefly and then Trump will rebuild everything with tariffs. They live in a fantasy world.
  6. He's got a fund which is unavailable to the rest of us peons. It has gained 20% so far this year.
  7. Oh OK, I misread it. I thought it was talking about today's morning rally and afternoon plunge.
  8. I thought the story was this morning.
  9. If the story was the reason for the early rally, then why did the Asia and Europe markets go up so much before the story was reported?
  10. I don't think the word "disabled" is generally considered offensive. It depends on how it is used. If you refer to individuals as disabled people or people with disabilities, then it's not offensive. If you refer to them as "the disabled" then it's dehumanizing. I do understand your overall point though. it is intent that matters. The idea is to respect everyone with respect and kindness. I would say that "injured list" makes more sense than "disabled list" because a disability is usually permanent whereas an injury generally heals.
  11. I remember a friend was practically begging me to watch a Dan Bongino video because he thought it was the greatest thing ever. Within 5 seconds, I knew he was a con man.
  12. There are surely things that you think are offense that are not offensive to others. Anyway, if there is one group which deserves extra consideration, it is disabled people.
  13. Yes, he is not what I expected.
  14. Not allowed? You can call it that if you want (I still do somethimes because it's so ingrained in my brain) but the official name is now Injured List which is similar to other sports.
  15. It's more calm than a drop of 6%
  16. I wonder if Torkelson will be moving back to first and Keith to DH when Torres returns.
  17. The king of Debt doesn't give a **** about waste, fraud and abuse.
  18. I don't think it's the age or the hours worked. This **** happens all over and older men are often the offenders.
  19. It's noteworthy as long as you don't conclude that he has reached a new performance level.
  20. This is good to see, but I am sure he'll be kissing Trump's ass later in the week.
  21. I am saying it's OK to be loyal and it can be admirable in the right circumstances. I love it when players stick with one team their entire career. Wanting to go to a winning team does not make someone a "winning player" and being loyal does not make someone soft. On the other hand, it's not necessary to be loyal if you don't like your situation. I am not criticizing the players for wanting to be associated with a winner. I might be criticizing fans who think that is an inherently admirable quality.
  22. I don't know either. I just get annoyed when players wanting to go to a winning team is viewed as admirable. It is understandable why a player would want to go play for a winner, but it seems like a short cut to me. If the team is already a winner without you, then you are not really accomplishing a lot by winning with that team. If you stay with a team which is bad and help them become a winner, that seems like a bigger acomplishment to me. Of course, it's not something you can do yourself as evidenced by Trout.
  23. They couldn't even build a team around him and Ohtani.
