If anyone is without plans tomorrow and wants to be around 30,000 of their closest friends, I may end up with two extra tickets to the Ford Field watch party... One of my friends is 50/50... I bought eight at $10 each and they're reselling for like $70 each, which.... I'll probably do that before I let them go unused, but I'd rather find a Lions fan to give them to.

If I had to guess, this will be done.... eventually. I think as Harbaugh wanes from people's minds and Moore begins his legacy, people will eventually look back and make this move, very quietly. It might be a year or two from now, but he'll get them back. Giving them to Harbaugh was an emotional move done as a middle finger to the NCAA, it's not based in logic.

Wasn't there though? This WaPo article I found from two days before charges were announced included this quote from McDonald, "Those who do not do that [responsibly secure their weapons] should and will be held accountable", and in the same speech to the media, she basically announced that charges against the parents were imminent. If they wanted to go to Canada, why didn't they? The second she said the above on 12/1, they could have driven straight to the border. They weren't charged yet, there was nothing stopping them. They were arrested in Detroit on 12/3. I don't know. We might not agree on specifics here, but the whole thing stinks to high heaven. It never should have happened if there was some sense of sanity at the highest level of government. As a society, we apparently value our toys more than our children. Even if they're guilty, will it really help? How many school shootings have happened while they were awaiting trial? Instead of change, it's just school shooting -> thoughts and prayers -> "we have to do something!" -> doing nothing -> school shooting -> thoughts and prayers.... I don't think this case will change that one way or the other.

They might throw Hart a bone and give him the OC title. I'm sure Moore will call plays but the title and raise might help to retain him. If Hart has a future as an HC it's very likely in the college game anyway.

I haven't seen this yet. It would probably change my opinion if it comes in at trial that they were leaving him unattended for days at a time. I'm not convinced they were fleeing the country though. They were hiding for sure, but the shooting was on a Tuesday, they were charged late Friday afternoon, and they were arrested on Saturday morning in Detroit. If they wanted to flee, they had family in Florida they could have gone to, or they were free citizens to cross into Canada until charges were announced on Friday. It was really the first thing that annoyed me about the prosecution in this case. They knew they were going to charge the parents by Wednesday or Thursday. The parents had attorneys by then too. Instead of handling the case professionally and arranging for an arraignment like every other case where the defendant already has an attorney, the prosecutor waited and did a 4:00pm Friday afternoon press conference (after the court was closed so they couldn't be arraigned that day), announced the charges to the media (before the defense attorney), and then practically stepped off the podium and said "we can't find them, they're running!" to get widespread media coverage. They were arrested less than 12 hours later. Of course they weren't in Oxford, they'd have been hanged like Salem witches by the angry mob. But they were only 45 minutes south. It worked though, the parents have been in jail for over two years. Neither Rittenhouse or Casey Anthony got that.

The defense just didn’t ****ing execute.

“he” is Matt Patricia if that wasn’t glaringly obvious.

I don't see it as a real 2A thing. They were Trumpies, but a lot of people in Oxford are, and a lot of them would prefer a public hanging of these parents as opposed to this trial. On the FOX News angle, her kid murdered white school children in Oxford, not BLMers like Rittenhouse. She's no hero to anybody. [side bar, maybe this is why I stay out of the politics section......] I'm just not sure this is the way to go about it all. I feel like the problem is legislative and systemic. The fact they didn't break a single gun law is baffling to me, and it's not even fixable with a blue House, Senate, and Governor, because of federal blockades the second you breath the words "gun reform" near the Capitol. This case though.... I've worked in child welfare, I've been a foster parent, and I've worked with severely mentally ill kids before. I've seen first-hand how some of these kids can be sweet, seemingly "normal" teens in one minute, to terrors in the next. She wasn't perfect, she probably could have done more.... but involuntary manslaughter? That precedent scares me. She didn't pull the trigger. He was a fully functional - though mentally ill - 15-year-old who absolutely knew what he was doing that day. I will say though too that I really don't like the prosecutor in this case. Karen McDonald is slimy, and is gunning for political gain (no pun intended). I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth. When she runs for whatever office she's going to run for, she may be the only candidate who could ever get me to vote for a Republican.

I thought I remembered this being a thread. Anyone following the Crumbley parent trial in Oakland County? It’s been a drama filled case so far against the mom and they’re just getting started.

Ben Johnson almost wasn't the play caller in 2022. I don't think Campbell announced that Johnson would be calling plays (as opposed to himself) until the lead-up to week one.
