  1. I agree. He's been better than I expected to be honest. I would still take Gibbs and LaPorta.
  2. Same here. LaPorta has looked like he could possibly be the next Kelce or Gronkowski within two years. There's nothing to say that Carter been a problem in the locker room, or his effort has been poor with the Eagles, so I don't want to unfairly speculate... but he's in a locker room that's rumored to be in turmoil and will have lost 6 of their last 7 to end the season. Gibbs and LaPorta aren't.
  3. I'm sure he got that all the time after the big wins in LA.
  4. Nick Sirianni takes three points off the board and predictably doesn't get the 1st down.
  5. The Valenti Show would beg to differ. Don't mention Jalen Carter or Jordan Davis in a ten-mile radius of them if you don't want drool on your shoes.
  6. Recalling that Tampa game, there were multiple misfires by Baker Mayfield on receivers downfield who had gained a few yards of separation and would have gone for 6. Score more than 20 this time.
  7. Is it Sirianni or is it Howie Roseman? The Eagles and Lions are interesting case studies on character and locker room dynamics. Maybe this could have happened to the Lions too, but I don't think so. This complete collapse is interesting when you consider that they've consistently prioritized talent over character/locker room dynamics when other teams have passed on players.
  8. When the pick came up I thought it would either be Campbell or Kancey. I think they'll both be good. For his part, Campbell finished with 95 tackles on the season, second only to Anzalone on the Lions and second among rookies only to Ivan Pace on the Vikings. Solid upward trajectory for a rookie too, 39 tackles through the first nine weeks and 56 in the second half of the season.
  9. Lmao Eagles. Good thing you went for two earlier.
  10. I think we matchup better against the Bucs, but that we should beat either of these teams. I actually think the Rams would beat either of these teams.
  11. Please refer to the MotownForums.com Commandments Thou shall not defend Matt Patricia
  12. I remember him flipping the bird to lions fans once. It’s nice to recall these memories as the distant past.
  13. I don't think it's crazy to think that next year's NFC North may be similar to this year's AFC North. Four good to great teams. Gonna be a hard division in the years to come.
  14. He's not wrong. That's a poorly placed ball by Stafford that put Higbee in a precarious position where he couldn't brace for impact.
  15. I think he's just pissed he lost, in a lot of pain, and wants to get through this interview as quickly as possible so he can get to an ice bath and a bed. I really don't think he was dismissing the fans. He's been around the game long enough to understand that it's not personal. Kelly on the other hand........... well, she has been silent on social media so far.
  16. I think McVay has eaten his humble pie about the whole situation. Winning his Super Bowl certainly helped. Harder for Stafford to be gracious coming off the field in obvious pain after a brutal season-ending loss. Next year when he comes to Detroit for the regular season he will likely be applauded loudly and appreciated for what he did while he was here.
  17. The Rams lost by one and didn't go for it on 4th down a single time in the second half. It doesn't inherently mean the Rams were too conservative, but it is a yellow flag. They had 4th and 11 on their own 38 (punt), 4th and 8 on the Lions 9 (FG), 4th and 8 on the Lions 11 (FG), and 4th and 14 on the Lions 44. The last one is probably the only one that sticks out as should have gone for it.
  18. I don't think punting on 4th and 14 was the right call for the Rams. It reminds me of when Andy Reid went for it on 4th and 25 in week one. First, you have the players to convert it. It's not like you're a one-dimensional offense and rely exclusively on the run. Stafford, Puka, and Kupp were carving us up at times, and had already converted at least one 3rd and 15 earlier in the game. Second, the relative benefit isn't there. They punted from the 44 and DPJ went out of bounds at the 17. So they gained 27 yards of field position. With about 4 minutes left and the Rams having only one timeout and the two-minute warning, no matter where the Lions got the ball, the name of the game was getting 2-3 first downs. Getting it at the 44 might marginally increase the odds we kick a long field goal to go up 4, but that would take at least one first down anyway. In other words, you're probably losing anyway. Whether your defense makes a stand at the 44 or the 17, it wouldn't matter. They'd need to do it. Give your offense one more shot. The calculus is a little different if Ford Field doesn't force two timeouts. At that point, you can be selective in using those and make the Lions stretch the field more.
  19. I think he just really wanted to win this game. Maybe more than he even knew. The lack of follow-up questions also makes me think it wasn't even meant to be a shot at the fans so much as it was meant to be a non-answer to a question he didn't want to hear after a tough loss. "Happy for the players" is really just a "can I leave now" answer if you remove all the context.
  20. I saw someone comment on Twitter that the game was going too fast for the broadcast, which was making them do more of the dreaded score, *TV timeout*, touchback, *TV timeout* sequence
  21. Normally I’d have been here much longer. I was busy hugging strangers, drinking, and screaming. it sounded like AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THEY ****ING DID IT!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Wouldn’t be a big Lions game without having to play the refs too. If the defense finishes, we are in phenomenal shape.
  23. Stafford could not hear the referee announce who won the toss
