  1. The consensus is strong with this message board. LOL.
  2. Nah. Not unless we are about to see a blow out and a close game against Iowa at least. Ohio State would be ranked above Oregon, and Michigan would have wins over two top tens in Ohio State and Penn State, plus Iowa. Washington would have wins over one top ten in Oregon (x2), plus Oregon State and Arizona. Mostly a wash, but Michigan has definitely passed the eye test better than UW. UW has played eight games decided by 10 or less. Compared to three for Michigan. I still think Oregon wins this. Their offense can score at any moment.
  3. I'm not surprised by Washington jumping out early. There has been too much talk about Oregon walking all over them. They're 12-0 for a reason, they don't suck.
  4. I would love this if I was an Indiana fan. They needed someone with a little f you attitude. They'll still probably lose by a combined 90 points to Michigan and Ohio State next year. But I like the spirit.
  5. Don't they have three weeks to activate him? Probably no need to rush that as long as Goff and Teddy are healthy.
  6. You got to beat the best to be the best, and Georgia is the best until proven otherwise.... but.... I don't think Georgia is as good as they were the last two years. When Georgia is 'on', they can beat anyone in the country handily. But you can't excuse beating 5-7 South Carolina by 10 or 6-6 Georgia Tech by 8. Compare that to Michigan, who really didn't break a sweat until they played Ohio State (maybe Maryland, but even that never really felt all that close)... Georgia has a major target on their back, and I don't think they finish 15-0. Whether it's Alabama, a semifinal, or the championship, I don't think they threepeat. I think part of it is the SEC echo chamber. I think Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and LSU are all good. I'm not convinced they're great. The best noncon game an SEC team played this year was Alabama/Texas, and Texas (who I think is very good but not elite) won by double digits, in Tuscaloosa. Missouri played Kansas State at home and won by 3. Kentucky played Louisville and won by 7... LSU played Florida State and got blown out... Georgia didn't play anybody decent and neither did Tennessee. I'm just not sure how much is "the SEC is stacked" and how much is "the SEC must be stacked, right? They're always stacked."
  7. My Predictions: Oregon 45 Washington 42 Texas 37 Oklahoma State 20 Georgia 31 Alabama 27 Michigan 30 Iowa 3 Florida State 20 Louisville 17 Leading to: (1) Georgia v. (4) Florida State (2) Michigan v. (3) Oregon My Ideal involves Washington, Michigan, Texas, Alabama, and Florida State winning. Give me: (1) Michigan v. (4) Florida State (2) Washington v. (3) Texas
  8. I would think it’s encouraging. There’s only been one player in the NFL this year that’s actually played after getting a doubtful designation, so it’s not encouraging for Sunday, but going from “missing some time”, per Campbell, to doubtful and not out is probably a good sign.
  9. Seattle isn’t a good team. We should have beat them.
  10. With due respect, you would have an aneurysm if Mike McCarthy coached the Lions. He is a yes-man to Jerry Jones, not a good NFL Head Coach.
  11. Who do we want to win? I’m inclined towards a 2-2 tie
  12. That’s a good point about Warren. I hadn’t made that connection.
  13. I don’t think the McCaskeys pull the trigger on Harbaugh. They seem too old school (and bad at picking coaches), and given that he has spent time there, he’s probably burned some bridges there, as he’s apt to do. I think he ends up in LA with the Chargers or in Las Vegas with the Raiders, either way with a very large paycheck and with some amount of personnel control. The Washington job is possible too but probably a distant third in my mind. If he ends up in Vegas I could see them picking JJ with their first round pick in April.
  14. I think he's got the potential to be a really solid piece on the defense. Maybe not All Pro and known nationwide, but a guy who people in Detroit point to as being. focal point of the defense's success. I also think he's got the potential to be a captain and a real leader on the defense. I also don't think he was their first choice at 18. They wanted Christian Gonzalez and when he went at 17 they had to improvise.
  15. Might be hard to view in this format but this was posted to Reddit and is probably a good layout of possible outcomes based on the outcomes of the five important games.
  16. I have a hard time believing the sky is falling. They performed too well over the course of like a 16-game stretch to have just forgotten how to football over the last five. I am worried about the turnovers, and our prospects against QBs that can exploit our defensive backs. Luckily there aren't very many of those in the NFC. If Goff looks terrible again on Sunday I may make a small step towards the panic button.
  17. I would expect him to be activated as the emergency QB for the playoffs.
  18. In fairness, TCU didn't lose 31-0 to a team we beat earlier in the season. If Iowa was in the B1G East, they probably go 8-4 or 7-5. They beat Northwestern, Illinois, and Nebraska by a combined 8 points and only beat two teams by more than 10 points all season (Rutgers and Western Michigan). Compared to Michigan who did not trail in the second half of a game this season. I'm sure the team isn't overlooking them, it would be hard to do when you don't know your next opponent and that game isn't for a month.... but the West is a complete joke.
  19. 30-3 is the same score they beat East Carolina by. Maybe they’ll try to embarrass the B1G and their pitiful championship game, but I think they have their eyes set on a natty this year, which I think is actually realistic. Iowa is a team to be dismissed of before the real game starts.
  20. They could probably play Orji all game and still win by double digits. I’m disappointed Orji and Jake Butt never played together.
  21. I agree they would be above OSU. A win by Alabama eliminates Ohio State as both 12-1 Georgia and 12-1 Alabama would probably be ranked above them. I think the question is really whether a win by Bama vaults them over top of a 12-1 B12 Champion Texas, who they’ve lost to.
  22. The more I look at the new rankings the more I think it’s possible the SEC gets left out with an Alabama, Texas, and Florida State win. And certainly if you add Washington to that. If the committee wanted it different they would have set it up differently this week. Florida State at #4. I can’t imagine they drop with a win. Oregon at #5. If they avenge their 3-point road loss and beat the #3 team to become Conference Champions am I to imagine they would stay at #5?? I really doubt it. Ohio State at #6. They could have done anything with them. They’re not playing, so it’s not like there are a lot of considerations at play here. They still put them below Oregon and above two teams playing this weekend. Texas at #7 and Alabama at #8. If they wanted Alabama in with a win they could have set the stage this week that head-to-head be damned, or that a 11-1 SEC team is better than an 11-1 PAC team. They didn’t. Alabama looked like a bad football team against a bad Auburn team while Texas took care of business. The UT/Bama game wasn’t a fluke either, Texas won by 10 in Tuscaloosa. I really think if we see Michigan, Florida State, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama win, that it’ll be (1) Michigan v (4) Florida State in the Rose Bowl and (2) Oregon v (3) Texas in the Sugar Bowl. I hope it happens.
  23. I think this is true regarding FSU, but if they planned to hold them out they probably would have shown their hand this week. They were #5 heading into this week, they could have easily had Oregon jump them after their big ranked win over a rival to #4 to set up a 3v4 PAC-12 Championship. With FSU in the top four heading into Championship Weekend, I can’t imagine they get jumped with a win and become the first 13-0 Power 5 Champion not invited to the playoff. I do think the committee doesn’t think they’re very good and would prefer they lose.
  24. What do they do if Bama beats Georgia? Is that worth jumping four spots, over a team that’s beat them head to head? Is it crazy to think that the SEC could get shut out? 1) Michigan 2) Oregon/Washington 3) Florida State 4) Texas 5) Bama 6) Georgia?
