  1. Campbell is going to end up in all-offense mode if the defense can’t make an adjustment quick. That means going for it on every plausible 4th down and an onside kick if we are down 10. The defense has to be better. Full stop.
  2. Knew we would need to score a lot but would prefer if the defense made the trip.
  3. Hell of a job by the offensive line on that first drive. Hutch needs to wake up. The preseason is over.
  4. I feel similar to this game as to how I felt going into Dallas in late 2023. May not be the better team in this moment, but should be able to take anything that comes our way and have a chance to win it. Lucky for us, we get old man Bill Vinovich tonight instead of Brad Allen.
  5. Of course he didn't, that's ridiculous. He just taught Penei Sewell, Frank Ragnow, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jahmyr Gibbs, David Montgomery, Jameson Williams, Jared Goff (of course), and Sam LaPorta everything they've ever known about football, and they're now doomed without him.... Actually add TeSlaa to that list too, just in case.
  6. NFL Hot Seat ON FIRE 1. Brian Dabboll (18-35-1): I don't think it's all his fault, but he's not helping either. He'll probably last the season, but there is no guarantee. Maybe he'll be fired after the Giants lose by 60 in Ford Field. 2. Mike McDaniel (28-26): His team has given up on him. I'd love to have him on the Lions staff as an offensive mind, but that Dolphins team is just so soft. I don't see him surviving into next season. The Dolphins need to blow it up and rebuild. RED HOT 3. Raheem Morris (13-18): Live by the 1st round QB, die by the 1st round QB. You can't lose 30-0 to the Panthers, bench your 1st round QB in the process, and not rise in these rankings. 4. Brian Callahan (3-17): The record speaks for itself. If he can't turn things around this season, and make Cam Ward look like an NFL QB, I don't think he'll get a second mulligan season. HOT 5. Zac Taylor (48-53-1): This is tough, but I don't think he gets forgiveness for Burrow's injury again, especially if they go down like they did today again. The defense is atrocious, and the offensive line is bad. Cincy will always love Taylor for the magical run a few years back, but this could be a landing spot for Brian Flores. 6. Kevin Stefanski (41-46): Today helps, but I don't see the year-end evaluation looking good. The Browns offense is terrible, and while that is mostly the fault of ownership and front office gross mismanagement with the Watson trade and deal, I'm not sure they'll keep Stefanski around for the rebuild. WARM 7. Dave Canales (6-14): I'm not sure the long-term vision of the Panthers, but today helps Canales more than Stefanski. If he can make the Panthers competitive this year, he's safe. 8. Shane Steichen (20-17): He's 3-0 this year so everyone is happy for now, but if he misses the playoffs I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts make a move. 9. Jonathan Gannon (14-23): Like Steichen, everyone is content in Glendale with them at 2-1. But if he can't make the playoffs in year three, there will be discussions about whether he is the right guy. WARMING 10. Kellen Moore (0-3): If there's a one-and-done out there this year, I think it's Moore. It's not even his fault, the Saints have an atrocious roster. But they're heading squarely towards 2-15 or worse, and that's hard to do without losing a locker room.
  7. I'm not that worried about the rushing defense. They've been pretty stout this year and really good at plugging holes. I'd be surprised if Henry runs free. I think the keys to victory are: 1) Making Lamar a little uncomfortable. It sounds dumb because it's almost impossible to do; he just takes off when he feels pressure. But if Hutch can get home once or twice in the first few drives, they can get some creative blitz packages in there, and just make Lamar see some ghosts, he will start taking off before he needs to. That's when our defensive line can get him, before he breaks contain and we are chasing him all over the field like two years ago. 2) Linebackers playing disciplined. One big piece that is different from two years ago is our linebacking corps. I think Jack Campbell, Alex Anzalone, and Derrick Barnes are one of the most underrated linebacking corps in football this year. Two years ago, it was the same three, but Campbell was a rookie in his 7th game ever. He got schooled. They need to be flying sideline to sideline this week. 3) The offense needs to be flawless. There is no room for a stalled start or missed assignments. They need to go into this game like they need to score every time they touch the ball. First to 50 wins. That likely won't ultimately be the case, but it needs to be the attitude. The Bills showed you that it's possible to score some points on the Baltimore defense. Go execute. I would also agree with you that to the extent they can control TOP, that will work in their favor. But more than anything, just score points. Every. Single. Time. I'll take a 1-play, 75-yard pass to Jamo in 0:08 over a 14-play, 68-yard methodical drive that results in a field goal. Whether the defense is gassed or not, Lamar is going to score points.
  8. Jamo was asked about this play and quoted saying that he knew it would be a touchdown before the ball was snapped, but "would keep why to himself" (paraphrasing) It's too bad offensive mastermind Ben Johnson left us...
  9. It could end up being a big game too. Cleveland is a common opponent. If the Lions can win on Thanksgiving and there is ultimately a tie in the standings, common opponents would be the second tiebreaker after divisional record.
  10. 24-3 after tomorrow night!!!! 😤 😤 😤 😤 😤
  11. I wouldn’t be surprised. The team that went into Baltimore two years ago and got slapped was a different Lions team. They hadn’t quite learned how to be good yet. Lamar is great, but there is no reason they can’t go punch for punch with him.
  12. First drive for the Bears in their bounce back game against the Cowboys: 3 plays, -2 yards, punt.
  13. I think Ebuka caught that. Really weird that it never even got formally reviewed.
  14. Credit where it's due, FOX is acting like primetime Red Zone Scott Hanson getting all of these crazy finishes.
  15. ANOTHER block in the Jets-Bucs game. That's three blocked kicks in like ten minutes of real time. Two returned for 6.
  16. Cowboys-Bears hasn't been "America's Game of the Week" since at least the 90s.
  17. Hahahahahahahahah That was fun.
  18. I was about to say the same thing. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I struggle to see the Packers making a deep run with him in command. If you evaluate him in a vacuum, he's mediocre. But he's been riding the coattails of Favre and Rodgers for the better part of two years.
  19. Not sure a way for Raheem Morris to get blown out and shut out by the Panthers in his second season without being on the hot seat tomorrow. Doubt they make a move but this is the type of loss that sticks with you.
  20. Vikings taking it to the Burrow-less Bengals. Packers struggling to pull away from the Beown
  21. Wayne Matthews III of Michigan State seriously hurt in the game no one stayed up to watch. Taken from the field in a backboard and loaded into an ambulance at the ramp. Hate to see it.
  22. Indiana making a statement
