I could see MSU administration prioritizing stability and safety over a sure winner in their next pick. Barnett and Chris Creighton are the two that come to mind. Not flashy, not likely to take them to the CFP, but also not likely to embarrass the school or program. edit for clarity - I don’t think either would be a bad hire or “less than”. I actually think Creighton is an extremely underrated coach for what he’s done in Ypsilanti.

Minnesota’s first-place schedule is not enviable. They’ve got Philly, LAC, KC, SF, and Cincinnati on the schedule, in addition to their divisional games. They really couldn’t afford to lose to Tampa last week. That said, I don’t think they’re going to take going 7-10 lying down. They’ll be a tough team as long as Kirk can throw the ball in the vicinity of Justin Jefferson and know that he’ll probably come down with it.

Kind of feels like the team is feeding off that energy, so I’m cool with it lol

We just need to educate the crowd though. It always drives me crazy when somebody would start a "Let's Go Lions" chant when we are on offense and the offensive players would have to quiet the crowd. It's not that hard - NOISE on defense, QUIET on offense.

I read today as well that even if the Jets find a potential trade partner for a veteran (or someone like Kyler Murray), their 1st and 2nd round picks next year cannot be traded, because the option doesn’t vest until the end of the season. They would have to re-negotiate the trade with Green Bay first, which wouldn’t come for free.

Still better than this. Hutch will have a field day if they actually start him.

I didn't realize Decker played every snap last year and has gone 1,212 snaps in a row. He may push to go if he can.

He played nearly three quarters on that ankle, which is damn impressive. If he misses a few weeks, wonder if they slide Penei to the left and have Nelson play RT. Nelson did not impress in the preseason, but I'm sure he will do better next to Vaitai and Ragnow as compared to players not on the team anymore.

NFLVerse puts 4th & 1 success rates at 65% from 2013-2022. With Zach Wilson as your QB though in a 13-13 defensive battle late in the 4th, I'm not going to chance it for what likely amounts to an extra minute of time off the clock. It worked out, so kudos to him for that. But this isn't the first time he's made what I would characterize as very questionable decisions related to clock management.
