I think they could pass them, I just don't think they should. If I was going to argue an extreme, I would say that USC should stay because they played last night and Ohio State didn't. Or that Clemson or Kansas State should go, because they're playing and Ohio State isn't. I'm not going that far because I think that's dumb. USC had their chance - so did Clemson and Kansas State. I do think it's a fair take though that TCU's overall body of work is worthy of the #3 seed. I also think it's fair to say that if you're going to make the playoff as the one team that didn't win your division and didn't have to play a 13th game, you should play the #1 seed in the semifinal and prove your worth.

I guess I would counter and ask if Ohio State can really sit at home uninvited and rise two spots. TCU will have more wins, a better SOS, a better SOR, and played 13 games. If M was to rematch OSU, I feel like they'd prefer to have a buffer game to see if they change anything coming out of the Michigan loss. I also think Ohio State is a better team than TCU and Michigan should prefer to play TCU.

I think they were caught looking ahead last week and now they don't see a point.

I tried finding a picture of the other angle on Twitter without success... I'm sure videos will be uploaded later. I thought it looked clear that he was lying on top of bodies when he started extending the ball.
-
This is just one of the angles. Another showed he was lying on top of a pile as he extended the ball. It's plausible that if they match up those camera angles to tell when the ball comes out that it would stand as called... I thought he was definitely in though.

I could be wrong, but I really don't see a scenario where Michigan and Ohio State rematch in the semifinal game. In eight years, there has never been a semifinal rematch. There has never been a two-loss playoff team. I don't think either of those will change if they can help it. It's also worth noting that Warde Manual is on the CFP Committee, and while he is "recused" from ranking Michigan, he's not recused from ranking Ohio State or TCU... I think he will pound the table to avoid an immediate rematch. The Kansas State AD is also on the committee, and while "recused" from ranking Kansas State, he probably won't have an issue joining that side of the argument for TCU to stay at #3.

LSU is dumb, dumb, dumb... Also Brian Kelly killed a kid.

I think a three-point TCU loss, to a top 7 or 8 team, in OT, in a game that Ohio State did not have to play, will keep TCU at #3* *if keeping them at #3 is convenient for the committee.
-
And then there were two undefeated.
-
Wow. I thought he was definitely in on that 3rd and Goal.
-
Are these announcers even watching the game? I think that's a clear TD.
-
Heading to OT. This is TCU's second OT game this year, beat OK State 43-40 in 2OT back in October.
-
For #3 or to make it? I think they've done enough for #3.
-
Turning into a good game... If they punch this in, bet the house on a QB Draw for the two point conversion. never mind....
-
I get it's 'right' for a 12-1 TCU to make the playoff over 10-2 Alabama... I still think 10-2 Bama wins 8/10 matchups against TCU head-to-head.
-
TCU bailed out by the black box that is football rules.
-
The group that searches the nation for 19-22 year olds who can throw a football five yards with the worst possible form.
-
I really think even if they don't they'll stay at #3 if it keeps these matchups true.
-
They're still 12-0, if they're the opponent Michigan still can't in looking ahead... But yeah, I think they would pose a much nicer landing pad than Georgia did last year.
-
14-10 Kansas State leads at the half. TCU is lucky it's only 4... TCU has lived off of the 4th quarter comeback, so I'm sure they're pretty confident with where they're at.
-
If they get another shot, I want it to be for the National Championship. They'll likely get some players back for the semifinal, and I don't want them to have back-to-back games against Michigan having heard nothing for 5 weeks but how they got their asses kicked.
-
No, but they do sometimes stop playing offense.
