New Megadeth. I know it’s probably not anyone here’s cup of tea, but it is an absolutely fantastic release for those of us who appreciate the heavier side of music. They are going out on top. It’s solid start to finish. Because the two bands are attached at the hip, it’s better than anything Metallica released since the Black Album.

Get yourself a happy light. They really help with seasonal depression and when you trick your brain into seeing “sunlight” it also helps with your sleep.

I am not a fan of PRS guitars but respect is respect. This is a great video that highlights Paul honoring the work of Ted McCarty. Even if you’re not a “guitar guy”, it’s a great human story. Gibson released a hideous tribute to Ted decades later which was based on an old drawing that Ted created but it was too little too late.

As my dear fried Buddha stated, I actively root for whoever is playing scUM. If I had to say I have a favorite college team, I’d say Notre Dame because I like the helmets and I spent my formative years near South Bend. That said, much like my Lions fandom, I don't actively follow them, I couldn’t name two players on the team and, while I hope they win, I’m indifferent to the games outcome as I still have to go back to work on Mondays for the next 2.5 years. Maybe once I retire I’ll give a rip.

Last night at an open mic, the guy sitting near me, whose ego is so unbearably out of control that no one wants to play music with him, was criticizing a performer because a chord he played “should have been a minor chord”. Just shut up and appreciate that this guy has the balls to perform live in front of strangers. I told him that he should go up and perform a song but, of course, he had a list of excuses for why he couldn’t (including “I don’t have a guitar” despite the fact that there were a half dozen high end guitars that anyone could utilize).

I’d say she’s on a short list of famous people that I’d like to meet. Seems like a fun and funny person and her voice, even now, is incredible. I wouldn’t mind meeting Michael McKean too but I think that exhausts the list.

Yeah, we’re much the same way most times. My wife is adamant about it. We have a reflective tint on our front windows so, if it’s dark out, people outside can see silhouettes and what is on the tv but that’s it.

And by all accounts, Moon and Dweezil are really good people.

His wife is no peach either but that might be PTSD from being married to Frank.

The story of how this came into being is infuriating as a dad of girls and yet amusing the way Moon tells it. Frank was an incredibly talented human and a completely self-absorbed jerk.

I’m with you. I like rules and trying to stay within the lines but when the rules are control-based, micro-managing or just plain anal-retentive, I abhor those rules.

I associated it with the likes of “big ass” as a unit of measurement. No parameters but you know what they’re talking about with a big ass car or a big ass tree.

Do you currently have 110v devices? That’s a good starting point. I have noticed that battery life tends to have decreased in smoke alarms even with the ten-year units. I don’t know if them being smarter draws more life out of the batteries but it is noticeable. Also, it is wise to purchase a can of smoke detector spray (available on Amazon) and test them at time changes.
