  1. I wonder if we would be in on Arik Armstead? He is still a productive player at 30 years old. I could see a 1-2 year deal for Armstead.
  2. That line at the beginning where he talks about cutting entitlements should be in ad after ad. The Republicans want to cut your Social Security and Medicare seems a very effective argument for Democrats.
  3. Th moral majority of America here folks.
  4. I'd rather have to face Russ twice a year than Kirk Cousins as the Vikings starter. Russ looks baked and done.
  5. I would guess the third year is either a team option or a voidable year on the contract.
  6. We can't be Arizona so my confidence in putting away Buffalo is fading. After all the numbers and stats I parsed through the other week, it really amazes me how big of a collapse this team has had without Larkin. They look like a bottom 5 team without him and here I thought they had all this scoring depth on the team.
  7. I guess Chris Jones won't be a Lion.
  8. Maybe Biden can walk out in handcuffs with three pillows under his shirt and a spray on tan to imitate him. What a sick, heartless ****ing human being and if you vote for him you're a sick, heartless **** too.
  9. I wanted Patrick Peterson so bad back in the 2011 draft. But I think the guy is washed now.
  10. I don't agree with the Republican Border Bill that they were trying to pass on policy. However, I thought Biden really had a great moment sticking it to the Republicans saying "that's amazing you all don't even agree with your own bill." This was one of Biden's best and most effective jabs last night.
  11. 4-2 now, I'd say this one is over. These next two weeks workout Larkin are really going to send us tumbling down the standings I fear.
  12. It's one report, about them making a phone call, to inquire about the price. They're doing their due diligence which I very much like. It doesn't mean they'll pay whatever price is asked in a trade, nor does it even mean they've done anything serious beyond inquiring about Snead.
  13. That is fantastic to hear they are potentially in the market for a player of Snead's caliber.
  14. Nothing, I think it is a risk-free move for Florida with Ottawa picking up 50% of the salary. And them really only giving up 4th, or 3rd round picks at worst if they make a Cup, is nothing to them. I think this is a low-risk, high reward move for Florida.
  15. So we should recriminalize drugs and continue having the highest incarceration rate in the industrialized first world? The Nixonian approach to treating drugs as a crime problem does not work. Whether you are dealing with coke, crack rock, fentanyl, heroin, lsd, marijuana/cannabis, meth. We've tried the other way, criminalizing drugs and locking everyone up, for decades in this country. That didn't work. Frankly, if people want to do drugs, that is their choice and they should not be put into prison for making that choice. What we should do, in line with decriminalization, is adequately tax the wealthy, upper middle class, and big corporations to pay for a universal system of healthcare. Through that, we can pay for and send people to mandated drug treatment, rehab, job training, and life skills programs. Furthermore, if you want to get drugs off the streets and out of the hands of violent gangs then not only should you decriminalize the, but let them be sold in retail stores the same way beer and now cannabis is. I'd rather have it sold from licensed and regulated vendors than sold on the streets near children, schools, and neighborhoods.
  16. I disagree here and think most on the right and the Republican Party itself are too far gone. You aren't going to go from believing now that vaccines have built in 5G microchips, Hillary Clinton molested children in a pizza parlor, immigrants are vermin, and that LGBTQ+ people are a moral threat to society to not believing this by 2028. All these people will still hold all those beliefs four years from now and will support candidates who share those beliefs. The Republican Party is gone and it isn't coming back. After Donald Trump in 2028 it will potentially be Don Jr., Eric, or an adjacent MAGA person leading the way in the party. The days on the Gipper, George H.W. Bush, **** Cheney, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, and company are over and are not returning. This is now firmly the party of MAGA-minded individuals like the Trump family, Steve Bannon, Ben Shapiro, Nick Fuentes, MTG, Matt Gaetz, Loren Bobert, Josh Hawley, and the like.
  17. Wow, Florida gave up nothing of significance to get Tarasenko. And the fact that they got Ottawa to retain 50% of the salary is huge.
  18. He's going to spend it, just not the way we want him to spend it quite possibly. I think Brad and Dan would rather spread the money around and bring in 2-3-4 good/nice players than spend it on 1 great or elite player. So if this scenario below were to play out and you gave Brad/Dan the choice of who they'd sign, I think they would choose option 2. I hope I'm wrong and we can get ourselves one of those marquee, elite defensive players. Option 1 Trade draft capital to the Chiefs for L'Jarius Snead and sign him to a long-term deal at something like 4 years, $76.0 million at $19mil per season with $35 million guaranteed. Option 2 Keep all their draft capital and not trade it for Snead but rather spend it in the draft on picks or to move up for a player they like. Resign Josh Reynolds at 2 years, $14 million Sign CB Stephon Gilmore to a 1 year, $10 million Sign G Kevin Zeitler to a 1 year, $7.5 million
  19. Do we at all think the Lions see Sutton and Mosley as their CBs #1 and #2 and don't address the position with either a big time free agent signing or high draft pick?
  20. What an absolute ****ing cretin this guy is. A clod of the highest magnitude. An ignorant vote can be one of the most dangerous weapons out there and this dude proves it. The average woman has contribute far more than I'm sur you've ever contributed to society bud.
  21. Some people will hate this and find it a boring or poorly done acoustic cover of an Iron Maiden classic. However, I really enjoyed this folky/REM-style spin on Iron Maiden's Wasted Years. If you ever wondered what it would be like to hear Michael Stipe, Cat Stevens, or James Taylor sing an Iron Maiden song, well wonder no more.
  22. I think we're all largely on the same page here, just saying it in different terms. I have said in this thread and others, that I think they draft for talent and culture fit, but that the culture has to fit in order for the talent to be considered. I've used Jalen Carter as a recent example of. If a guy like Carter is supremely talented and checks that box, but doesn't check the culture fit box, they will pass on him every time. The player they are looking to draft has to have a coachable attitude and be willing to learn from the staff. They have to love/respect/value football as much as they do. Otherwise, they're not going to get drafted, regardless of talent level. Players like an Antonio Brown, Chase Young, Jalen Carter, Vontez Burfict, etc. would never get drafted by this organization, as much as we the fan may want a guy like that because they simply don't fit the culture.
  23. This is how In feel the front office is going to operate as well. I would be surprised, pleasantly so, if they broke the bank and went out and signed or traded for a player like Hunter, Jones, Snead, etc. I think we are looking at the B-tier, day 3 or 4 free agents that can be signed to terms that are more team friendly and are not 4-5+ year, $100 million or higher deals. I think they have a plan and won't be deviating from it, especially in light of the success they had with it just this past season.
  24. I think our playoff chances just went down dramatically now. I expect us to get passed by the Lightning and maybe even be a game or two ahead in the standings by the time Larkin returns. Those Colorado and Vegas games on our mini west coast swing look real tough now.
  25. Holmes has shown a willingness time and again to trade up. He could have jumped the Patriots for Gonzalez if he really wanted to do so. Considering Porter Jr. was selected #32 overall, he could have picked Porter Jr. over Campbell. They clearly had a draft board that had Campbell slotted very close to or higher than Gonzalez and certainly higher than Porter Jr. Whereas I think the average fan would have said they have a serious need at CB and taken Porter Jr. over Campbell and likely Gonzalez over Gibbs.
