Really, pleasantly surprised they called that on Hughes.

Yep. Gym is going to cater to the impeachment crowd and likely double down on the pointless Hunter Biden and Joe Biden investigations. Gym's just going to be a speaker that runs interference for Trump and try to taint Joe Biden.

1 goal on 26 shots. Out shooting the Devils but losing. Husso looks fine though tonight.

I would think it's the guy who covered up the abuse and sexual assault of college athletes, Gym Jordan. Maybe McHenry but I think Gym has the most votes as of now. I still can't see Biden district Republicans voting for him, but he's not the lead now I would think.

Imagine having 2 of the top 3 players in the league and all you have to show for it is 1 appearance in the WCF and getting bounced early in the playoffs other than that. Kenny's really doing a dynamic job there in Edmonton.

Bonus points for knowing what the attitude era was. And that's the bottom line because Gym Jordan said so!

Serious question, what's the real difference between Bibi Netanyahu and Putin from a governance and philosophical standpoint? It seems to me that both are corrupt, far right, authoritarians. The difference to me seems that Putin has coalesced power in a way that Bibi has not yet. But I have no doubt in my mind that if Bibi could have the level of power and control that Putin does he'd take it in an instant.

I don't see how Gym would ever get any of the Republicans in districts that Biden won to vote for him. I can't imagine any rep in a competitive district would want to anchor their future to Gym.

So much good country and americana music out there that no one knows about. if you're into this type of music as I am please give Katlin Butts' song White River a spin. Really excellent song writing here.

Mary Chapin Carpenter was in town in A2 the other night. Sadly, I missed the show and did not end up going after debating it. I absolutely love MCC's songwriting and storytelling though. Her Stones in the Road album is one of the very best albums of the 1990s and is at the top of my favorite country/folk/americana albums of all time.

He gave us Thank You For Being a Friend!

I'm confident too that Simon's going to be the next call up if we have an injury on the team and I'll be glad to see him in the big league when he finally arrives. Unless Chairot turns it around and rebounds, I want him having as little ice time as possible.

The Giants stink, after being a hot team last year and could be sellers at the deadline. DBs Xavier McKinney and Adoree Jackson may be two guys worth our time as well. McKinney has a near 70 PFF grade and 23 tackles with 0 ints. He's been targeted 14 times and allowed 8 catches. I'd still love to get Budda Baker from Arizona if he is fully healthy and cleared to return if we are targeting a DB because Baker can step right in and play the CJGJ role alongside Branch.

Randy Gregory as well just last week. Calvin Ridley, Bradley Chubb, Roquan Smith, Robert Quinn, and Johnathan Hankins last year too.

Blah!!! Adding a depth piece does nothing for me and only marginally improves this team. I know it isn't Holmes' modus to go out and make a splashy move or take on a big contract. However, I wonder if his philosophy would be malleable in this situation given how close we are to being an elite team. I would hope so. He has to recognize the impact that a Young, Burns, Baker, Surtain type of player could have on this team, assuming they fit the scheme and locker room culture. I think we should be out make a big move, for a starting caliber player at the deadline at CB, S, DE, or maybe WR if they simply don't trust Jamo.

Week Six: Detroit Lions (4-1) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)
Mr.TaterSalad replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
I was LMAO off today listening to Valenti on 97.1. Valenti and a caller go at it regarding Jamo. The caller got tired of him dogging Jamo and calling him underwhelming. The caller said the Lions need to give the guy more targets and Valenti exploded and blasted off to space screaming about you don't get targets if they don't trust you yet. This went on for a good minute plus with Valenti and the caller screaming at one another about Jamo and whose fault it all is. All of Valenti's radio theatrics and antics aside, and the callers too, are we at a point where Goff, Johnson, Campbell, just don't have any trust in who Jamo is as a player yet? Should he be getting an increased target share or does he need to earn that? How can you get a job if you don't have any experience, but how can you get experience if they won't give you the job? Where are we at with Jamo this week? -
Big time buyers. We are finally a team where one player can make a huge difference and put us over the top. There are three main needs I see this team having, a downfield threat at WR (which will hopefully be filled by an emerging Jamo), a pass rusher to line up opposite Hutch, and another CB to start opposite Sutton now that Mosley is gone for the season. If I can live in fantasy land I'd love to get either Brian Burns away from the Panthers or Chase Young from the Commanders. I think the Panthers need draft capital the the worst way given that they traded all of it away for the rights to draft Bryce Young. They rejected a lucrative offer last year from the Rams to get Brian Burns, but that was before they mortgaged their future to draft Young. I'd offer a 2nd and 4th for Burns and would be willing to go as high as our 1st next year to get Burns. Given Chase Young's injury history and inability to play a full season, I wouldn't offer a 1st for him at this point in time. One other player I'd be interested in, assuming his hamstring is ok, is Cardinals Safety Budda Baker. The Cardinals are a dumpster fire and need to rebuild for next year. Baker could step in and play the CJGJ role in our secondary. I don't know what would be fair value for Baker, but I would guess a 2nd or 3rd + late round pick.

He may have made rookie mistakes but Chiarot makes "I shouldn't be playing hockey at the NHL level mistakes" and looks slow, plodding, and out of position on the ice. Not to mention a -31 differential and terrible Corsi stats. He reminds me a lot of Darien Hatcher, the Red Wing years at this point. Even if he is an alternate captain, that shouldn't excuse his poor play and allow him to stick around. Oh well, Chiarot's going to be here, on the main roster, for likely the entire season. Here's to hoping at age 32 he can turn it around this year. Hopefully we get to see Simon sooner rather than later and he's ready for primetime. I really want to know what we have in this kid versus what I believe I already know about Chiarot.

Were Minnesota smart, they would trade Cousins and Danielle Hunter and tank for Caleb Williams. I hope they aren't smart because I'd hate for us to have to spend the next 12 years worrying about Caleb Williams, assuming he ends up a solid NFL starting QB. I think the Vikings pass though on their opportunity to ditch Cousins and start over and instead opt to keep him. Which is great for us here in Detroit.

I dislike religion for this very reason. It would be like Dearborn and Melvindale though if Melvindale surrounded Dearborn, cut off access to clean water to 90% of the people in Dearborn, indiscriminately rocketed or launched air strikes on religious buildings/schools/homes/apartments/marketplaces, and gave Dearborn residents 72 hour to vacate notices because they were going to demolish their homes and build Melvindalian settlements.

I don't in any way, shape, or form, justify the barbarism and horrific crimes against humanity committed by Hamas on Saturday. But I think this Palestinian-Israeli expert that CNN had on is right. The world has largely allowed the Israeli government to engage in and get away with an apartheid against Palestinian people for damn near a decade? I don't think the Israeli apartheid justifies at all what Hamas did. But when you have people living in an open air prison, as Israel did with Palestinians in Gaza, you can predict at some point there will be retaliation.

I remember when this happened between Wisconsin and Northwestern years ago. Wisconsin ran it instead of taking the knee, fumbled, Northwestern for the scoop and then a score on the next play for the win. Mario Cristobal is an absolute dunce for running a play that wasn't just a simple kneel down. Here's the Wisconsin/Northwestern play for reference.

First off, I know at least for now, it isn't realistic to expect Ben Chiarot to go anywhere. I know he isn't going to be sent down to GR or cut, much as I wish we could do that. Is it more beneficial for Edvinsson to get more minutes in GR to develop or take Chiarot's minutes up here and get big league ice time?
