Week Two: Seattle Seahawks (0-1) @ Detroit Lions (1-0)
Mr.TaterSalad replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
I'm amazed at how little pressure we're generating up front. They really need an interior pass rusher like, oh, Jalen Carter. I wasn't on the Carter bandwagon, so I won't try to rewrite history, but they are really lacking they interior pass rush when Aiden doesn't slide inside. I'm also questioning the coaching. -

Way to answer back with 7 after a BS PI call. That's what good teams do, recover and score! -

The blocking scheme may have gotten him blown up in the backfield though. -

Are you kidding me? Starting the second half off with a fumble. -

For such a creative play caller on 1st and 2nd down, we seem to get a lot of halfback dives and uncreative, up the middle play calling. -

Bears losing to the Bucs through the second quarter. So much for those of us that had them pegged to take a decent sized step this season. -

"So awesome" that the moral majority of America and the party of family values is ok with fingering your spouse in public and getting a quickie, in the movie theater, where kids and families are at. But yeah, keep telling my gay cousin on my mom's side of the family that he and his boyfriend are immoral people who are grooming children to be bad, scary gay people. Seriously, **** off GOP!!!

Sounds like Josh Paschal might be out a few games now according you MLive. -
Goldwater told Nixon to get lost or they were removing him. Goldwater would have likely told Trump the same because he seemed to be a man who held to his principals. I think Goldwater would be out. I think today's MAGA crowd would like Nixon, but only on the grounds that he was being targeted by "evil libs that need to be shown their place and pwned." I think MAGA Republicans would have probably been ok with Reagan too because Reagan played up the welfare queen and lazy blacks on welfare card. I could see Reagan in today's world playing up the culture wars against the LGTBQ community and wokeism as well.

Our 2nd round picks always suck. So we aren't allowed to have productive 2nd rounders. -

3rd down masks down. I did not buy a mask though. -
Never forget that without Unions you'd literally be handcuffed or shackled to your desk/factory floor or the doors would be locked from the outside until your work day was over. In honor of the UAW negotiations I thought a little Pete Seeger would be appropriate.

https://thefootballusa.com/wealthiest-college-football Michigan State generates $172 million in revenue from college football. While it's not near the top like Ohio State at $251 million, or Big Blue at $210 million, I think they can still afford Urban and a few good assistant coaches. I'd call Urban and tell him the following: 1. We don't give an EFFF about how things went down in Jacksonville or any of what we saw on Swamp Kings on Netflix. You win, you haven't broken the law or had major NCAA violations, so we're good there. 2. We'll pay you north of $10 million per season if you are willing to negotiate with us in good faith. 3. We'll pay your top assistant coaches, including OC, DC, Special Teams, and a top recruiting assistance north of $1.5 million each. 4. You can recruit any way you'd like as long as it is legal and within the bounds of NCAA rules. You can have all the NIL money you want. You can oversign prospects like they do in the SEC. All of it. 5. We know you won't want to stay more than 4-5-6 years anyways, so you can quit whenever and handpick your successor.

I'm not a MSU fan, but yes. If whomever is running MSU's search for their next head coach doesn't pick up the phone and at least give Urban the chance to tell you no than they aren't doing their due diligence. I think it's highly unlikely Urban would say yes, but he should be the first name on State's list for a new coach. Before you call Pat Narduzzi, Jim Leonhard, Brian Hartline, Jeremy Chadwell, Mike Elko or whomever, you have to call Urban because he flat out wins. He does one thing exceedingly well too, as Buddha said, he wins over Harbaugh and Michigan.

I know he won't agree to it, and I know he might not be the best choice given his own personal indiscretions, but if you're Michigan State, do you call Urban Meyer?

If it weren't for needing to hold Wisconsin in the Senate, I think Tammy Baldwin would be the best choice as our nominee. She checks the diversity/equity box as she is an openly lesbian woman and would be not only be the first woman as President but the first member of the LGBTQ community. She is progressive and supports many of the values and policies of the left (M4A, Green New Deal, voted against the Iraq War, ending the filibuster, etc.) without appearing as radical as a Bernie Sanders. Baldwin would have broader appeal than most left wing candidates for voters in the center, while still holding true to values that would help turn out progressives and young people. Most importantly, she knows how to win and win big in purple state races. She has won twice, by comfortable margins, in her Senate races in the purple state of Wisconsin. If it weren't for the need to keep that seat this year in the Senate, I think Baldwin should be the nominee. I think a Tammy Baldwin/Cory Booker ticket or an all women ticket with Tammy Baldwin/Gretchen Whitmer ticket would be great.

I would not trade Bridgewater. We have waited forever for this organization to get itself a competent backup QB, seemingly since the Shaun Hill days. We finally have one and I am not going to trade him away for a mid or late round pick.
-
I love JT O'Sullivan's videos and detailed breakdowns. As MCS pointed out to me before, he's a former Lions backup QB too.
-
Let's be real, there is one QB out there worth the Jets time, that could be expected to both be productive on the field and possibly want to play. And it isn't Carson Wentz.

I see no reason why Gibbs snap count shouldn't increase by the week, while Jones decreases. Gibbs should be getting time out wide and in the slot on certain play designs as well. He's the RB version of Deboo Samuel. That is to say, a RB who will occasionally be schemed as a WR, like Deboo is a WR who will occasionally be schemed as a RB. -

Marvin Jones looks cooked. I don't think that's an overreaction. Maybe I am wrong and he'll bounce back this week.
