  1. I'll say a few things regarding the cap and a trade scenario involving Trey Hendrickson. If we don't get Trey Hendrickson I am perfectly fine with that. I trust Brad Holmes, I love the job he has done, and if he doesn't want Hendrickson here, nor want to pay him gobs of guaranteed money, I am fine with that. I have been one of the fans on the Hendrickson bandwagon for the last year so I figure I'd comment and try to back up my desire for Hendrickson. I don't necessarily think bringing in Hendrickson means we'll be in cap hell for years to come. Nor do I believe it means having to let 3 or 4 of our recently drafted players walk. I do believe we probably have to give Hutch his due before trading for Hendrickson. I also believe we will probably let 1 of their marquee players Holmes drafted walk and have a significant cap casualty in my scenario. Right now the cap is $279 million according to Over the Cap. They project it at OTC to go up to $311 million by the 2027 season. That's an over $40 million jump in salary cap. We currently have $47,832,225 in cap space with Hutch likely getting a new deal in the near future. My guess is that Hutch's overall number and cap number will be somewhere between what Maxx Crosby and Myles Garrett got. I don't think he'll demand to be the highest paid DE/Edge in the league. I am going to go with a 4 year deal of $150 million with $125 million guaranteed for Hutch. Some of that money will be incentive-laced and some of that will be structured so there are higher and lower cap hits depending on the year. I have zero clue how any of that would eventually work and break out. For the sake of argument, I am going to say around $31.25 million/year in-terms of a guaranteed money cap hit. It won't be that way in the end because the contract will be structured in all sorts of different ways, but for this example it is. So roughly $30 million guaranteed up front over the next 4 years for Hutch. Next, after we sign Hutch, we trade for Trey Hendrickson. Before I trade for him I am getting guarantees that he will sign here for the long-term (ie the next 3 seasons) and will accept the potential contract we're going to offer him right away after the trade, so as not to hold out on us as well. According to reports from the likes of Tom Pelissero and others the Bengals are listening to trade offers and want a 2026 1st + a young defensive player in return. My initial offer would be Jack Campbell and a 2026 1st round pick. For the sake of argument again, let's say that works, the Bengals accept, and we get Trey Hendrickson. Now, we've got to sign him. Again, I'm not trading for him until I am certain we can meet his demands and he will 100% assure us he's signing here immediately after the trade and not holding out. Reports suggest Trey wants 3 years of guaranteed money in any deal he signs. For this mock scenario, I'll give him exactly that. In-fact, I'll give him more than what Maxx Crosby got in his 3 year, $106.5 million dollar extension. Hendrickson is a slightly better player than Crosby. My Trey Hendrickson contract would look something like 3 years at $115 million with $95 million guaranteed. So it would roughly equate out to $31.6 million in guaranteed money over the 3 years. This would mean the team is now paying $220 million in guaranteed money to two DE/Edge players and that is a heck of a lot. I can understand why people wouldn't want to commit that kind of money to one position. To afford this I would be foremost relying on the cap going up over the next 3 seasons in the 26, 27, and 28 offseasons. I would also be restructuring Goff's current contract and extending him out to lessen the cap hit. I would also cut or restructure Taylor Decker after this season. Finally, Williams would be a player that ends up walking and being a cap casualty. You new defensive starting 11 would look something like this for the upcoming season. Left DE - Hutchinson, Right DE - Hendrickson, Left DT - McNeill (when healthy), Right DT - Williams WLB - Anzalone, MLB - Cunningham, SLB - Barnes Left CB - Arnold, Right CB - Reed, NB - Robertson, SS - Branch, FS - Joseph
  2. Wait, wait, wait. I thought MAGA told us January 6th was a false flag event perpetuated by the deep state? If this guy was at January 6th and now works for Trump, did Trump hire someone from the deep state to be in his administration?
  3. It is truly about time that this happened. Federov was one of the most game-changing, dynamic players in the history of our franchise. Along with his Russian Five counterparts, guys like Federov reshaped the game of hockey and the league itself. Well deserved number retirement for Sergei. Love to see it is finally happening.
  4. Also, if Joe Biden had said you need a license plate to vote in Delaware it would be on every newscast and pundit show for the next week. Plus, there would be headlines from papers like WSJ, NY Post, NYT and WaPo talking about Biden's age and cognitive abilities. I only saw a Yahoo News article on this story and little more.
  5. In what state do you have to have a license plate to vote? Having a license plate assumes you are both a driver and owner of a vehicle of some sort to drive. So is he suggesting that in Florida that older folks that can't drive anymore or people with disabilities who can't drive are ineligible to vote and turned away at the polls?
  6. I would have to guess Hendrickson and Hutch will end up getting similar dollars per year in their deals. Hutch will have the higher dollar amount in his contract overall because I think he'll get more term than Hendrickson I think Hendrickson gets a 3 year contract, whereas Hutch gets a 4 to 5 year deal. Some teams might sign Hutch for a 6th or 7th year, but that simply isn't Brad Holmes' standard. I could see Hendrickson getting similar to what Maxx Crosby got from the Raiders. Crosby got 3 years and $106.5 million with a $91 million guaranteed and I Hendrickson could be right around that number and term.
  7. There was a good amount of buzz around this kid in camp too and now he's a Levi, where we just have to wait and see.
  8. The Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby situations were always more speculative than anything. The Trey Hendrickson trade rumors it seems have more legs because this has been persistent all offseason. I would of course make the trade and work on making it work financially over the next 3 years or so. I presume he'll get a 3 to 4 year deal with a large cap number in his new contract. Once McNeill returns, assuming Hutch bounces right back to form, and then adding Hendrickson to the mix gives you the chance to potentially have the best defense in the league to go alongside the top scoring offense. We won't be making this trade though because Brad Holmes has a concrete plan in place that he's sticking to and ultimately that's fine because it's gotten us this far.
  9. Mockery, humiliation, ridicule, and cutting dictators down to size is often one of the most effective ways to take down their power and reduce their effectiveness. Gavin Newsom has been doing a really good job on all fronts there lately. I think it is working to an extent and I'd like to see more Democrats laugh at Trump.
  10. I think if Democrats in Michigan were smart they hammer DTE and Consumers Energy over and over again. Not a single soul in Metro Detroit accept bought and paid for politicians and the propaganda machine at DTE actually likes DTE and the service they provide. DTE is universally loathed because of their terribly unreliable service, lack on investments in the grid, and shoddy customer service. Ann Arbor is taking the right approach by pushing the more reliable, more cost effective public power option. While I'd like to see all of the SE Michigan area get onboard with public power like Ann Arbor is looking at doing, at a minimum, Democratic politicians from Michigan should be using big utilities like DTE as a boogyman and pledge to better regulate them and not take any corporate pac money from utilities.
  11. That's just wrong, that's just not white!
  12. So we're going to have Trump's bathroom brigade at ever restaurant now? Are restaurants going to have workers that actually feel your private parts and gentile area or is this a visual inspection you have to go through?
  13. Don't forget, she also committed the sins of adultery and having a child out of wedlock. I believe she cheated on one husband with another and got knocked up by the one she was cheating with.
  14. Unless a state has protections for same-sex marriages already in place in their laws and/or enshrined in their state constitution they'll probably invalidate the marriages. I worry if they make a worse ruling that somehow (not sure how) Trumps state laws and precedence and invalidates same-sex marriages in states that do have laws and constitutional protections on the books. Now that might sound preposterous, but we've been seeing federalism in reverse under this current Supreme Court. A system setup by the court where the federal government dictates and mandates on down to the states anything and everything. Furthermore, given that religious, right wing fanatics like Alito, Coney-Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Thomas think that LGBTQIA people are going to burn in hell anyways for a life of sin, I don't think this court much cares that they are overturning same-sex marriages. In-fact, these religious fanatics probably think they're saving people from sin and doing them a favor.
  15. They're overturning marriage equality now. I can't see this radically right wing court protecting marriage rights for LGBTQIA persons and couples.
  16. The injury bug starting again. Hopefully this is nothing serious and Hassanein is back on the field in no time. Apparently he told the press "I'm good" after practice today. So let's hope he really is good and he's back out there this week.
  17. WOMEN'S ATHLETICS! WOMEN'S ATHLETICS! They care about transwomen playing in women's sports . . . until they don't. When the women want equitable pay, that's not something the right wants to standup for.
  18. They really believe this bull**** too. I genuinely believe that what is shared in this video are Pete Hegseth's actual views on women being able to vote.
  19. I remember as a kid watching the Reggie Brown game and feeling so awful about it as a kid. This situation with Morice Norris has me reflecting on that. Thoughts go out to Morice Norris and I hope he makes a full and healthy recovery.
  20. I think he needs to be hammered as an elitist for doing this. Like when Bush's campaign mocked John Kerry for wind surfing back in 2004, JD should be mocked for his phone populism and clear elitism.
  21. TeSlaa looking good tonight too.
  22. That was a weak roughing the passer call.
  23. They need a backup QB because Hooker simply doesn't have it thus far. What a waste of a 3rd round pick.
  24. Is TeSlaa working out of the slot, on the outside, or being moved around. I know the stereotype is white wideouts tend to work in the slot. Are the Lions using him as a slot guy in practice?
  25. One of the reasons, among many, that we hate Donald Trump is because of his vulgar, disgusting, sexist, misogynist behavior. I'm sure Haley Stevens would agree with this. Yet, when it comes to Mike Bloomberg all is forgiven and she endorses a creep, with multiple NDAs, simply because he has a (D) next to his name. We are disgusted at the way Trump talks about women, even his own daughter. Yet when Mike Bloomberg talks about his daughter that way, it's no problem for Haley Stevens. Michigan politics sure is interesting.
