  1. I'm dreaming when I say this, but imagine if they got so fed up they did a coup and removed him from power. Having a military dictatorship or one of Putin's underlings take over isn't perfect, but if it ended the war, that's a plus.
  2. This, combined with the actions taken to kick them out of the SWIFT banking system could do some real damage. Unlike other sanctions presently being inflicted, these seem like tangible actions that might inflict real pain to Putin and the overall Russian economy.
  3. Isn't there an election this year? Can't nominate a Justice during an election year right? Seriously, I was nervous Biden would pick Michele Childs, who has a more concerning background on labor rights issues. I am very excited to see he picked Judge Brown Jackson instead. She seems like a terrific nomination to the Supreme Court. Also cool that the Repubs are forced to watch a black woman get nominated and go through with nothing they can do about it. She'll be a strong advocate for LGBTQIA rights and the marginalized, which you'd think Lindsey Graham would like.
  4. I clicked, so it worked.
  5. Far be it from me to criticize another person's take on the draft. I wanted Connor Cook in the 3rd round and thought he'd be a serviceable NFL starter. But the guy at Walter Football has us passing on Hutchison and taking Drake London with the #2 pick overall. I think this board, this fan base, the radio crowd, beat writers, everyone would explode if they passed on an Edge Rusher/DE for Drake London at #2.
  6. What are the odds this sinks the Russian economy into a full-scale depression long-term because they overextend themselves and the Ruble crashes completely?
  7. Wouldn't they be trying to assassinate whoever gets installed?
  8. That seems encouraging. For a country that does not support free press or journalism, some of it's own journalists are taking the risk and standing up against this immoral war.
  9. I was reading this interview that NPR did with Yuriy Sergeyev and he basically stated that he felt Putin was manic and mentally ill. Is that essentially what we're dealing with here? A person who suffers from delusions and a brain health issue operating as a head of state in Russia?
  10. That was a Drew & Mike drop was it not on Karen Drew of Channel 4?
  11. Huel Perkins is retiring at Fox 2 along with Monica Gayle. I'll always remember and laugh at the time Huel Perkins read the Kwame Kilpatrick/Christine Beatty text message on the air. Huel's HELL YEAH! is an all time classic news read.
  12. I always shout out I PARK FOR FREE when listening to the masterpiece that is Loading Zones by Kurt Vile.
  13. Both the Adams, John and Samuel, at least opposed Slavery at the founding of the nation. That's more than you can say for Washington and Jefferson. Neither owned slaves as both Washington and Jefferson did. Quincy Adams was a critic of slavery during his tenure in Congress and worked to get rid of a gag rule that prevented anti-slavery legislation from moving forward.
  14. I hope that Sheila didn't have the same fetish her mom did for the Tight End position. That said, if they burn their second 1st round pick or their 2nd rounder on someone like Jalen Wydermyer I think you have to get rid of Brad Holmes and the entire regime on the spot and start over lol.
  15. Not civil rights, but slavery, is a different argument with different consequences. Both Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams opposed slavery. Quincy Adams was a critic of it while elected to Congress as well. As did Samuel Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Ben Franklin, and Marquis De Lafayette. If they did, so too could have Washington, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. So the standards of the time were that many opposed slavery, including founding members of this nation.
  16. Did Bitterman prostitute himself for Trump? If yes, pass. If no, and he did or is willing to stand up to him, then proceed.
  17. I agree that taking a QB is rounds 2-5 is not worth the pick, but I'd be willing to burn a 6th or 7th on one if we had an extra pick. How many 6th and 7th rounders at any position end up as starters or even make a team long term. If we had an extra 6th or 7th to use, EJ Perry is the guy I'd use it on this year. I posted a highlight reel of his a couple of pages back, but you know my track record with QBs, so probably best we don't pick Perry.
  18. LBJ did the right thing on Civil Rights and enacted the Great Society to tackle poverty. If he had the courage to end Vietnam he'd easily be my #1, but alas he extended and escalated the war and then lied about the "progress" we were making with McNamara.
  19. Yes, absolutely. Other than Adams' John and John Quincy, because they opposed slavery, I don't look at the founding fathers or early Presidents with much fondness. Jefferson was himself a slave owner and a skank who slept around with his servants. And I never buy the argument of "well times were different" because you had President's like John Adams and JQA who opposed slavery. Albeit, they weren't abolitionists, but at least they knew it was morally wrong and voiced some opposition to it. All the slave-supporting Presidents belong at the bottom of the list IMO because outside of killing, mass murder and genocide, there isn't much that is more morally repugnant and a greater stain on our nation than slavery. Presidential lists are tough because all these men have flaws. The fact that not one woman is on the list is a flaw. Beyond Lincoln at #1, it's tough to rank who, where. My gut reaction is to say FDR at #2, but it can't be him due to what he did to Japanese Americans during WWII. It can't be Johnson due to Vietnam. It's can't be Truman due to him dropping the bomb. It's can't be Teddy due to his staunch opposition to Civil Rights laws and support for Jim Crow. I guess I'd say Lincoln at #1, Eisenhower at #2, Obama at #3, FDR at #4, JFK at #5.
  20. Obama didn't support slavery, so that's always a good start to be higher than a President who did support slavery, like Polk and Jackson.
  21. Fucking Nixon! LOL!
  22. Florida Bill Would Require Schools to Out LGBTQIA students . . .
  23. Why would they hang up for all three picks? It's not that far off base IMO. The Redskins gave up 3 picks in the RG3 trade. The Rams in the Goff trade gave us 2 1sts and in the trade with the Titans gave up 2 1sts and a 2nd.
  24. Juwan Howard through a punch at the Wisconsin Assistant Head Coach at today's game. That is a big no-no for a coach to get involved in a fight like that. He can and should be harshly punished for a situation like that. Didn't Woody Hayes lose his job after the infamous punch he threw at a Clemson player?
