Has anyone followed this story? It turns out a several right wing media influencers were on the Russian payroll. Members of Tenet Media, including Benny Johnson, Julie Chen, Lauren Southern, Dave Rubin, and Tim Pool were taking millions of dollars in sum total from individuals affiliated with Russia Today and the Russian government lead by Vladimir Putin. JUST LOL that Rubin and Pool, the "free thinkers" and "truth tellers" of the interwebs were telling us for years how Ukraine was the real enemy and Russia was our friend. Now that they're in legal hot water the truth comes out that these clowns were paid to have an opinion and potentially directly told what to say and thing. What a bunch of Russian hacks.

John Edwards, of all people, had a great narrative about this when he talked about Our America vs. Their America. One America for the rest of us and one for the wealthy. We need populist messaging without the socialism framing of Sanders. This is why I want a guy like Shawn Fain for 2028. He can be our populist outsider with disdain for the wealthy elites.

I actually agree with this quite a bit. I think of Trump reignited inflation, caused the fed to have to raise interest rates yet again, enabled recession conditions, and created food and labor shortages with mass deportations that could be a death knell. His whole theory of the case is that he is a business super genius who alone can fix the economy himself. I do wonder if all the worst case economic scenarios were to play out would the emporer finally have no clothes?

This guy was Trump's dinner date. I don't know about the kinds of people you have over for dinner, but I hope they aren't like this.

One of my biggest fears is that two things happen simultaneously. One, he sells Ukraine out, stops funding them in any capacity, and allows Russia to continue to take over territory. Two, the war itself doesn't actually stop but he declares victory because he stops funding them and the American people buy his bull**** and respect him for it. So Russia is still at war with Ukraine and making further territorial gains without US support, but because so many Americans believe his lies, they actually think the war has ended because of Trump.
