  1. when they DFA Candy, safe to assume he will return to his normal decent level of production with his new team. what an absolute cluster the whole organization is. Soon after the trade, however, analysts from Braves baseball operations presented video to hitting coach Kevin Seitzer that showed what Grossman was doing differently from past seasons when he’d thrived against righties. The outlook started to change. If Grossman saw the same things they were seeing and was willing to work right away on adjustments, Seitzer and the Braves analytics experts thought he might be more than a right-handed hitting platoon player to share left-field duties with Eddie Rosario, as originally planned. To say that it’s worked as hoped would be an understatement.
  2. hard to imagine, but when gas was cheaper in Windsor, one time my friend's mom drove a bunch of us to Tiger stadium, and she said, we are going to Canada to get gas first; she went thru the tunnel, told the guy she was buying gas at a station she could see, filled up, and came back. With the fares, it was still cheaper to buy in Windsor. No papers asked for, for the kids including me that were not hers. No one cared. Tigers won (Angels I think).
  3. Torre and Francona were both retreads and not welcomed when hired on NY and Boston
  4. Jobe did not get thru 2 innings tonite Mayer probably hit 2 cycles and Lawler probably had 5 homers
  5. I already told myself he would have surgery, but GD they get no breaks
  6. is playing a 34 year old SS who has not hit league average for 6 years something they should be doing?
  7. i don't think this is a goal nor would it be difficult. keep him around as depth; maybe he can be the bridge at 3rd to Keith; or release him if Kreidler/Clemens/Other is outperforming him
  8. Chris Williams Jr (18th round pick from William Carey University) was announced as OF, but he is pitching in FCL.
  9. and Workman, Cabrera and Cruz drop off top 30. the fact that they Id'ed Elvis and developed him further is great; not great is that a minor league R5 guy is on the list
  10. a US Senator says this guy had to break the law to show that it could be broken. this is why I think we are coming to a long and slow end to the country. the GQP will excuse literally any behavior on their part
  11. as far as I can tell, Carpenter never appeared on any pre-season prospect lists pipeline has him at 15 now, but at this rate, he won't be an eligible prospect for 2023 https://www.mlb.com/prospects/tigers/kerry-carpenter-681481
  12. the K tonite was: called inside on the black, swing at crazy frisbee slider, foul, called outside on the black; not a bad AB
  13. maybe Hinch told Coolbaugh not to talk to Carpenter?
  14. so much easier to win games when you score runs
  15. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. i don't believe it but good to see
  17. maybe he runs out of low hanging fruit, but he should keep doing this
  18. I think this is right, minus Victor. Sign one of the 4 free agent SS. Get a bridge to Keith at 3b. Get a RH OF with power thru trade or free agency (though few FA options).
  19. this guy still thinks he will be president
  20. with Avila gone, no longer any need to pretend he might turn into something useful
  21. what is it they are seeing - or expect to see - from Willi and Victor? just move on, please god, no more
  22. something else Avila was really bad at. this is just one part, but a big part, of asset management. you have got to know your prospects best. should you keep them or trade them? if DD is doing the trading, assume he gets is right almost all the time, with a few fails, and some absolute steals
