  1. 6 game suspension will be an issue. He needs real game reps:
  2. The Tigers need pitching in their system...they have no depth and very few prospects.

  4. The pope chimes in :
  5. lol that is the mid market franchise dream. But there's a probably a reason that they are the only franchise that has been able to do it. Even now, they might be headed for a few bad seasons because of some of bad personnel decisions.
  6. You build for sustained success. If you are good enough and are lucky with injuries, your team will eventually get a legit title shot in the playoffs. I would take the Rays and other good organizations trajectory vs the 2015 Royals.
  7. Brieske will open; Wentz will be the second guy. Do something outside this afternoon lol.
  8. We need to get Haase going
  9. He uses RISP and RBI stats to say that Baez is performing better than Vierling lol.
  10. Rental prices have changed since 2014 when E-Rod was traded.
  11. I still need to see the path from this type of season to a decent team. As we have seen, development of young players is not linear. People getting emotional about the Baez disaster is fine. As far as the Tigers not making fringe roster moves, it's pretty clear they care that much about winning each individual game.
  12. Mock trade from Fangraphs: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/lets-make-some-deals-2023-trade-deadline-edition/
  13. I have no emotional attachment to the Tigers success so I'm going to mock the way people follow their favorite team! I am above the fray.
  14. Are the Tigers an Eric Haase charity fund? You can't do anything about Baez but Haase is legit cooked. According to twitter, he has a .382(!!!!) OPS in his last ~150 at-bats. He won't be around next year.
  15. They are running out the clock on Haase's time in major league baseball right now. They don't have a viable solution in Toledo and he won't be back next year. I guess the only hope is that he runs into a fastball and hits it far. But that's about it.
  16. I'm also out on the meta discourse on how people should talk about Baez. The contract is a disaster. People can complain about it every night or they can accept that he is a sunk cost and just deal with it. I'm going to do both based on my own state of mind that day.
  17. I don't think there will be huge moves from the outside. They will add some talent with strengths on the margins(defense, speed, etc). You might see a decent investment in a good starting pitcher. For offensive development, it's going to be internal mostly. Another take: Time has has run out for Akil Baddoo IMO. After the deadline, he should be replaced by Meadows.
  18. They've had two horrible streaks during the season...the start and the 9 game losing streak. Aside from that, it's been a mid team
