    Englert's disastrous performance on Saturday night was a way to circumvent his rule 5 status. Make him look so bad that he has to be injured so you can put him on the IL and create a roster spot. Galaxy brain stuff lol. Edit... i read beck's earlier tweet. Did they change the Rule 5 roster requirement? I thought they had to stay on the roster for the full year.

    Losing manning is bad luck…the tigers already have no margin of error. They have had plenty of bad luck with injuries, etc.

    Englert is a rule 5 player. You can’t option him. You can offer him back to Texas or find a deal where the tigers can keep him permanently.

    I want the Twins or Guardians to win games so the Tigers don't delude themselves into thinking they are in a race. I'm sure Harris knows the talent on this roster is years away. It's easier to sell when you are 8 games out.

    I think we can quibble whether Englert is worth locking in a roster spot for the full season. But they don't have any real answers for pitching in Toledo..it's defensible.

    With the pitching staff, they are going to very cautious with Manning, Skubal, and Olson. Once ERod and Lorenzen are traded, it's going to be rough.

    Tigers have no interest in doing everything to win every game...shows you how little respect they have for the talent on their roster. It makes sense because this team is very far away from being good.

It does make sense that they are looking at the long term. Its why Harris should trade every guy he can get value for. This is going to take some time.

    The only way to hold Baez accountable for poor production is playing time. It’s not even punitive. He has to find his power or he doesn’t help you win tonight’s game….that’s accounting for his good defense.
