  1. I think Harris clearly miscalculated that the 'back of the baseball card' stats would revert for certain guys on this team. Or it's an easy way to blame your predecessor. He can create make work out of showing how bad the roster is and adding more time to the new rebuild. They chose to go with internal solutions at 2nd, 3rd, and catcher. The free agent class was terrible I won't argue that. But making the choice to keep most of the same everyday lineup has been disastrous. Even with a fully loaded Riley Greene, the offense is still at best 27th in mlb. It sent a bad message to me as a fan. And watching them do nothing right now makes it even more frustrating.
  2. Tomorrow's game is at 11:35 am on Peacock. I'm going to cancel my subscription so I don't have to watch it.
  3. And then a bunch of guys who were already on the roster had great seasons in 2006...Inge, Granderson, Monroe, etc. Bonderman was healthy and good; Verlander and Zumaya because stars for one year; Kenny Rogers was signed to a free agent deal. If you look at it, a whole bunch of guys became decent players, a few stars emerged, and their pitching was great. But they didn't have 6 guys with an ops below .600. Maybe it's more important that you raise the floor of the team.
  4. They also signed the two big free agents plus Polanco. It was a big confluence of things all happening at once. It does prove that you need to explore all avenues to improve your team. Waiting on every single prospect to arrive at the same time is not how it works(development curves, injuries, luck).
  5. They have had horrible luck along with horrible management and ownership. Perhaps the luck will turn a bit with injuries and development. Beyond that, I have no idea how they turn this around.
  6. The tweets about Paredes homers hurt my soul.
  7. They went 1-55 or whatever in the first 3 innings of the road trip. If they choose to roll out the same lineups, they have no answers.
  8. The Tigers scored 8 runs in 6 games.
  9. 25 years old; He was demoted to AA this year. So you don't have to waste the energy googling his stats.
  10. Tyler Holton is the opener in the smokehouse tonight. They are moving Olson to Friday.
  11. There are no real solutions with the current guys on roster. How you replace them is the next question.
  12. Would you rather bad and boring...or bad and a bit watchable?
  13. You cannot let marisnick hit there. That is negligence by Hinch.
  14. Harris believed that the reputable hitters in last year's lineup would correct to career norms. It doesn't look like that's going to happen.
  15. a mid 700s OPS and 20 homers shouldn't be that hard for Baez. The shocking part is that he is not doing any damage when he actually makes contact.
  16. Carpenter has been bad in his rehab assignment...but they just need to give him a shot to try someone else.
  17. boring and bad..Ilitch baseball.
  18. 6 guys in the lineup with an OPS below .600. Nola has struckout 6 of the first 8 hitters.
