this was a pitch clock classic. Bascially a non-event in terms of hitting outcomes. Twins strung a few hits together randomly.

They scored enough runs to win at least one game today. The pitching and defense was brutal....especailly in game 1.

Does manning need the same amount of ramp up time as Skubal? He did go through spring training. But maybe being out two months makes it the same build up time.

There is a happy medium between win-now and what this is. Maybe it would be more palatable if they had healthy and productive young players. When they choose not to improve and then let the product die the first week of June, that screams indifference. It's visceral for me not necessarily logical. That's what a fan is.

To be clear, I quibble with Harris just rolling the majority of the 2022 offense into 2023. During that process, Harris told anyone who would listen that vets wouldn't block young players. They are letting useless vets continue to play and do nothing. They're not even changing the argument right now. It's the same corpses(aside from Cabrera) who continue to get at-bats. The pitching is injury luck and lack of development. You can't do much about it.

The Tigers have signaled with blaring sirens that they don't care about results right now. And the process is to steer head on into the tank.

i would quibble that they are in business of winning mlb games right now. The utter lack of urgency to try anything else on the major league roster screams tank acceptance. Maybe we improve when all of these guys get healthy. But the guy who promised 'young players will get opportunities' is letting Rome burn because they are out of options.

I'm not sure you want to put tons of pressure on Colt Keith to save this terrible mlb team. They probably need to win a few games and get a bit healthier to make the team a little more presentable. Let Keith get to Toledo for 2-3 weeks; By then the mlb team might have stabilized and they can bring him up after the break.

I think Harris clearly miscalculated that the 'back of the baseball card' stats would revert for certain guys on this team. Or it's an easy way to blame your predecessor. He can create make work out of showing how bad the roster is and adding more time to the new rebuild. They chose to go with internal solutions at 2nd, 3rd, and catcher. The free agent class was terrible I won't argue that. But making the choice to keep most of the same everyday lineup has been disastrous. Even with a fully loaded Riley Greene, the offense is still at best 27th in mlb. It sent a bad message to me as a fan. And watching them do nothing right now makes it even more frustrating.

Tomorrow's game is at 11:35 am on Peacock. I'm going to cancel my subscription so I don't have to watch it.
