Tigers have 91 strikeouts and 2 HRs over last 7 games. According to @baseball_ref, that's the most K's by a team in a 7-game stretch with 2 HRs or less in live-ball era (since 1920).
Kopech threw 56 four seam fastballs the other day; Two were put in play. I would guess that the ability to hit fastballs is a contributing factor to hitting for power and not striking out.
And they aren't guaranteed a high draft pick with the new mlb lottery. I like it because it will hopefully discourage tanking. But some mlb owners are shameless.
College managers abuse pitchers with high pitch counts and short rest. I follow this team very closely and have seen none of that. The pitching injuries are bad luck. The rest of this disaster is on Hinch, Avila, and everyone else.
Tarik Skubal will not pitch again this season for the Tigers and there is some concern with the pain in his elbow injury, per AJ Hinch.
He’s in LA right now and will see a specialist next week.
I will take a guy who strikes out, can't play defense, but also has a decent ISO. Right now, we have guys who don't get on base, strikeout a lot, and don't slug.
The Tigers don't have the guts to purge the roster...or they don't believe in anyone at Toledo to be better than this abomination. You choose which alternative sucks more.
