I have no idea what you are arguing in this thread. Is Avila good or bad? Should he lead the organization going forward? I say he is bad and is clueless and has no idea how to build a winning major league org. I think I've been pretty clear in my analysis. It's clear he can't handle a trade deadline. We have prima facie evidence of that. The free agents he has signed have more or less been disasters. Make your point and I will respond. No need to S%%tpost. I think they will need to have a conversation with Cabrera about 2023. He has hit the milestones and he's getting the money either way. I wonder if he wants to put himself through this nonsense again.

This guy has overvalued his own assets every trade deadline. The deadline is a benchmark to incrementally increase the talent level of your organization every year. He can't read a market and he can't honestly assess his own roster. And he is in constant CYA mode making excuses with his media mouthpieces. Even Lynn has turned on him so it's close to being over. All you need is an honest executive who can tell the owner that they are years away. Then allow him to make trades to really rework the talent level in this organization.

What is the goal if isn't winning 90 games? Playoff results are small sample size flukes in a lot of cases. The best team doesn't win. If you get into the playoffs enough times, you'll eventually break through.

I don't want Tucker Barnharts disastrous season to go unnoticed. He's a 31 year old catcher...they age on different curves so he is probably still in his physical prime. His walk and strikeout rates are in line mostly with last year. The iso% is at .033. He has a .234 slugging% and a -14.3% offensive WAR. wRC+ is 42!!!! OPS is .491, groundball rate is 56% and barrel % is 1.6%. I would DFA him at the same time they send out Robbie Grossman. And this was a good trade...it's just another part of the crap sandwich of a season.

Last 15 hitters did not reach base. This team has no competitive character.
