  1. https://fansided.com/mlb/5-teams-that-could-actually-meet-the-tigers-unreal-asking-price-for-tarik-skubal - I'm ATF. And I approve of the Phillies, Dodgers and Mets deals..... lol.
  2. I dunno..... Kyle Tucker could be worth building around..... Superstar that doesn't strike out much to put as your #3 hitter for the next 10 years sounds good.
  3. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/10/latest-on-tigers-tarik-skubal.html - Very interesting read for sure.
  4. I think too, Dave Dombrowski is brought in to bring home a ring. That's his mandate when he's hired. He does what he's hired to do. Dave goes all out to win the ring when the owners want, but he leaves farm systems in ruins (per owners orders. They dont give a phak about the next 10 years, they want a ring now!). He's done it the last four jobs he's had (including the Tigers). He's the hired gun. I wouldn't give him too much props for what he does. He literally empties the coffers to make a good run at a championship leaving nothing behind for the next GM. Have you ever seen DD rebuild a team? Nope........... Does every single team go into a massive multi year rebuild after he leaves (every single time)? YEP! Should we trade Max Clark for Corey Seager and McGonigle for Pete Alonso and Rainer, Yost, Briceno, Liranzo, Hamm, Melton, Witherspoon for Aaron Judge? We'd most likely win the World Series if we did that. But we'd be F'd like a paid lady on Woodward Ave for the next decade. That's what Dave Dombrowski does. You can say "He understands that in the long run, the return of an established player(s) will be greater than what typically comes via the prospect package." all you want. But the reality is, he doesn't g.a.f. because the owners that hire him tell him not to, specifically because they want to win now and then will rebuild when he moves on.
  5. Tucker is one guy, I'd build around. 8 years 250.... Gives us veteran leadership, star to build around and a legit bat year in and year out with good defense. That's the one guy I'd pony up for this off-season.
  6. The point that was being made if I understood correctly, was that teams will trade prospects because they think they will fail. I was just pointing out that I think a lot of times, teams don't want to trade players, but they have to in order to acquire someone LIKE Mason Miller. That's all. I get the team control and everything like that..... I was just saying sometimes teams do give up prospects they really don't want to, but they gotta give something to get something. That's all.....
  7. Munetaka Murakami - https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25259728-munetaka-murakami-babe-ruth-higo-really-worth-hype I wonder if Harris would dip his toes into the international market........?
  8. The only counter to this is https://www.mlb.com/news/athletics-trade-leo-de-vries-mason-miller I would bet anything I own that the Padres didn't want to give up Leo De Vries. Gotta give something to get something.
  9. Hope they do. They got 3 OF'rs as their top 3 prospects (and all 3 of their OF'rs are under contract for 3 more years). I'd want Rushing as the center piece plus 2 of those OF'rs. Even if we throw Max Anderson or Jace Jung back (they short on IF help). Great team to trade w/.
  10. No pitcher has ever been traded under 30 years old with back to back cy youngs. The price is astronomical. Painter, Miller and Crawford is a reasonable price to get back compared to the other floated offers...... And Dave Dombrowski trades prospects to win now. Thats his MO
  11. I also want to say, theres a HUGE difference when you have two blue chip prospects and four. The Tigers have a LEGIT chance at having four of the top 25 prospects in baseball if not five. That is franchise altering..... Add that to what we have already at the MLB level (Dingler, Greene, Carpenter, Keith [and to an extent Tork]) and that's how you build a continual winning franchise. This is how Clevelands been competitive for 20 years, this is how the Rays operate every year...... We finally have a good development system which we haven't had in 40 years. We can finally develop talent. Give the coaches the tools they need to produce winners. I think they'll shock you.
  12. I'd love the Tigers to run it one more time. But if they do, they set the franchise back 10 years. And unfortunately, I don't think I'm being dramatic/wrong. Like someone said earlier, we're a .500 team when Skubal isn't pitching (which again, I'm of the minority that with 2 players at a WRC of 100 or better, we've been overacheiving the last two years). If we have the chance to add someone like Andrew Painter (who can be 80 to 90% of what Skubal can be), a true SS, and an Outfielder that will start, mix that in with McGonigle and Clark adding to Dingler, Greene, Carpenter, Keith..... You just now set yourself with a REAL team for the next decade. Don't get me wrong, I want the Tigers to win. But you learn from history. The Angels in this case are our history. They ran with Ohtani instead of stocking their farm with more talent to add to their top prospects, and now they are still another 5-6 years away from being true contenders. So the choice is simple, run it back in 2026 and pray for a win, or set yourself up from 2027-2037 every single year (or at least hedging your bets by 80%+). For me, I want to go to the playoffs for 10 years and have a chance every year. Not just one year then be miserable for 10 years. Look at the Red Wings for another example. How many people are screaming for Yzerman's head when we begged for him to come here.... He inherited an empty cupboard and the draft God's crapped on him every year. From my understanding we might miss the playoffs again. But that's what happens when you sell your soul to stay in the playoffs for so long and litereally empty everything. If we keep Skubal and don't trade him, we are selling our soul for one year. Something tells me many of you will have pitchforks in 3-4 years because of it. But, like I said earlier, to each his own.
  13. I think your drastically undervaluing his trade value right now. Look at the trade offers on the previous page. We're talking 2 Top 3 prospects in an organization and a high end flyer....... Thats quite a bit more than a bench player, reliever and lottery ticket.........
  14. 8 is minimum. 10 is most likely. Yankee's, Mets, Dodgers, Phillies will all give him at least 8. Someone will most likely go to 10.
  15. This is EXACTLY why I think the Tigers have been over achieving the last two years and implore the Tigers to trade Skubal to set them up for the next decade. You put Michael Jordan on an average College basketball team in his prime and let him play 60% of the time, they are more than likely going to win a majority of those games. He can carry them by himself even if those around him are under achieving. I feel like this has been the Tigers the last two years. Now you trade Michael Jordan in this scenario and bring in two five star prospects along with your one five star and 2 four star commitments, now you built a winning team. I know very little about basketball. But I'm guessing 3 five stars and 2 four stars are probably going to do pretty good if they all are top 30 players at their perspective spots. Especially if they all stay together and play four years. Lets do that with the Tigers...... But they have to do it NOW! (just my $0.02)
  16. I agree wholeheartedly. I just think sacrificing 2026 for 2027-2037 is worth it in my eyes. But thats what makes it fun being a fan. We all have our perspectives. (That and I love prospects). Thanks for sharing your thoughts for sure! (I know you're not alone in those as many agree with you!)
  17. That's fine. I'm just curious though. If you look at the Angels, they are in Baseball purgatory because they could have traded Ohtani for a boatload (More than what we'd get for Skubal) but didn't, so they could run it one more time with him. If we do the same thing, do you have fear that we'll be in the same baseball purgatory? Would you be willing to run it back next year knowing that we probably miss the playoffs for the next 10 years? (I'm not trying to be a prude or negative in any way, I'm legitimately asking this as this is what I think happens if we run with Skubal for one more year. But I'm of the opinion the Tigers have overachieved the last two years as well which I know is in the minority of opinion here on this board also). But would appreciate your thoughts on that: Would you be willing to run it back next year knowing that we probably miss the playoffs for the next 10 years?
  18. I think he's the #2 trade bait behind Jung. A lot of people around the league are still high on Jung. But Anderson could be a deal for an OF' or pitcher.
  19. Hot off the press, sports writers talking what it'd take for Skubal. https://sports.yahoo.com/article/tarik-skubal-potential-next-stop-095600022.html TLDL: Seattle • Cole Young (SS) + Emerson Hancock (RHP) + high-upside A-ball prospect. • Harry Ford (C) + Emerson Hancock (RHP) + mid-tier prospect. If the price escalates, a conversation that includes Bryan Woo is where talks get serious. Boston • Marcelo Mayer (SS/3B) + Hunter Dobbins (RHP) + Luis Perales (RHP). Mets packages: • Jett Williams (SS/CF) + Brandon Sproat (RHP) + Ryan Clifford (OF/1B). • Luisangel Acuna (2B/SS) + Jonah Tong (RHP) + Carson Benge (OF). ________________________ Mets article about the same thing: It would have to be one of either Jett Williams or Carson Benge, probably pushing on Benge. Every team is asking for Benge right now. One of a [Brandon] Sproat or a [Jonah] Tong], and then another prospect, like a Ryan Clifford," Duquette said, per an X post from SNY. https://www.si.com/mlb/mets/news/ex-gm-reveals-how-new-york-mets-could-complete-tarik-skubal-trade-grant9 https://sny.tv/video/-do-mets-have-enough-pieces-to-trade-for-tarik-skubal-baseball-night-in-ny ______________________________________ Yankees Both Luis Gil and Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, Dominguez and 2025 1st round pick Dax Kilby https://fansided.com/mlb/a-loaded-yankees-trade-package-for-tarik-skubal-and-what-it-would-mean-for-tigers-01k7g00mp9cc ____________________________ Of the ones mentioned. I like the Mets. Carson Benge, Johah Tong and Ryan Clifford. Done deal. We'll pay for shipping too... Although the Red Sox package looks great too. Mariners I'd rather have Colt Emerson + Emerson Handcock + a High A player. But I guess that isn't happening............
  20. I've gotten into some arguments with some pretty smart baseball people (in my opinion) about Skubal. I flat out told them I want him traded (still do). Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut..... What if we play Skubal and Boras into Boras's own game. Boras loooooooves the opt-out option. How would you guys feel about offering Skubal a 10 year deal, $415 mil over 10 years. Years 1-3, pay him $45 million per year, then 4-10 pay him $40million per year giving him an opt out after year 3 and 4? (I say this because if he gets injured in year 3, year 4 would be a prove it year). That way we get him for the rest of his assumed prime, and more likely he'd opt out if he was really good going for another contract and we could run for the hills? (I know this would never happen, but you have to admit, that'd be pretty sweet). Nahhh, trade him lol.
  21. I think some teams that have a young OF would be interested. Someone like the Orioles with Beavers, Kjerstad, Cowser, Dylan Carlson....... If we could pry one of their young bucks (Cowser would be my preference) and someone like Mayo, I'd be all for it. It could work out for them too...... They also have Enrique Bradfield about to come up. Ike Irish could move fast and with Catcher blocked by Rutschman/Basallo, he could move to the OF and be up in 2026..... Best college hitter last year......... he should be fast tracked. So Greene moving to a team that's loaded with young OF'rs shouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities. He'd provide an all-star veteran presence that some teams could really like. Even if he is lacking in the defense area a little...... ---------------------------------------------------- I forgot he's 25. There's still plenty of time for room for improvement. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/riley-greene-682985?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb - Looks like his defense actually ticked up this year.
  22. By the way, I disagree with this. The chances of Skubal being 80% of the pitcher he is (without injury) 3 years from now is astronomical. I don't want to pay $40 (more likely 45) million plus for a #3 or #4 starter if he's healthy after 3 years for antoher 7 years. Thats the problem I have. If he was 4 or 5 years younger, yes, I'd pay him $500mil over 10. But he isn't.... get rid of him an buy.
  23. You're all beautiful......
  24. Happened last year with Arrenado.......
  25. I'm ATF, and I approve of this message! (Although they are going for it so they won't give up their closer...... so give us Justin Crawford instead)
