The USS Gerald R. Ford is on its first deployment. It arrived in Oslo and will take part in drills/exercises before heading to the Arctic. This is the first ship in the Gerald R. Ford class of carriers and will be replacing the Nimitz class carriers. Someone posted some pics of it sailing into Oslofjord.

Nothing wrong giving value to shooting. But at the end of the day it is just one metric in evaluating players. And specifically going to look for it is a bad idea. I mean you aren't taking **** over one of the Thompson twins just because he can shoot.

If your team just won 17 games you pretty much need everything. Drafting for fit is dumb.

Poole was a guard and still weighed 15 pounds more than Bates. He also had two seasons of shooting 37% from three where Bates has two years of 33%. Bates is way too slow to play guard in the NBA and doesn't have the handle. He moves to SF he is then going up against guys who are 30+ pounds heavier than he is with a lot more muscle. And honestly, he is still too slow to play SF. It wouldn't totally shock me to see someone take him in the 2nd round. But my guess is he is undrafted and might end up on a 2-way contract. Kick around the league a few years and off to Europe/Asia.
