  1. People did make that comparison before the draft but it doesn't fit IMO. Simmons won't shoot, not even layups. Givony wrote an article about Simmons before his draft about not working hard. All reports about Ausar are about how hard he works. I don't think Simmons wants to play basketball.
  2. He passes and rebounds too well to be Allen. If his shot doesn't develop he can still be a decent contributor on a good team.
  3. Was always a big Amen fan and by draft night I wanted them to take Ausar. But I would have been totally fine with Hendricks as well. Sam Vecenie might be the twins biggest fans. It is almost embarrassing how much he gushes over them. Glad to hear both kids are like this for when Ausar recruits Amen to the Pistons in 5 years.
  4. This guy takes requests on things to work into his forecast.
  5. Be fun to see a Victor-Chet rivalry develop in the western conference.
  6. Chet has looked really good in summer league. The future is bright in OKC.
  7. Busted out in 87th and took home $92,000. He flopped a set of 6's and lost to a guy that flopped a set of 7's.
  8. Love the effort on the offensive glass at the 49 second mark. McCormack is 6'10" and 250 pounds. Ausar just outworks him. Then at 2m28s the steal and he just takes off like a rocket for the easy transition basket.
  9. Funny thing. That was a really smart and nice play by Sasser and we aren't even talking about the poor kid.
  10. Even by NBA standards he made that entire sequence look so effortless.
  11. That doesn't seem good.
  12. Zero chance he holds out. Maybe a day, maybe a week. But he is owed something like $50M this season. He is not passing that up. Plus, in the NBA when you hold out the clock on your contract stops. So he has 4 years left, if he sat out a year, he would have 4 years left when he gets back. So Portland is under no pressure here.
  13. Nate Silver is currently 72nd in the world series of poker main event. 300 or so left. He was a good limit player back in the day.
  14. Prime day isn't always a deal.
  15. I have been working on a structure for the Killian Hayes extension. Send him a link to our season ticket packages and tell him that is how he can watch our games live for the 2024-25 season.
  16. Wait until next summer when Cade is eligible for a rookie max extension at $260m. Probably closer to $300M by time the cap goes up in a couple of years.
  17. FWIW, On3 came out with new rankings yesterday and they have AJ Dybantsa over Flagg and Boozer. Dybantsa is a 2026 kid.
  18. I think a lot of people are shocked by the dollar amount and don't realize the cap is $136M now. Not uncommon for a bench player to get the full MLE which is $13M this year. So $15M a year is only 11% of the salary cap this year. That dips down into single digits next year. Decent value for a possible 5th starter or sixth man type guy. Even more so for a center who defensively is somewhat switchable on the perimeter. The Bagley extension generates a lot more anger from me than the Stewart extension.
  19. He actually has more value to a good team. Most playoff teams run small lineups in the playoffs and Stewart is a very nice small ball center.
  20. My respect level for Andre just went up a bit. Shame he didn't realize this 6 or 7 years ago.
  21. Could look like a really good deal if he continues to improve. I don't think its insane to think he improves a bit more this year and could be a $17m-$20m guy next year if he was a FA.
  22. From legend to persona non grata in a flash.
  23. That was bad. To be fair, I'm shocked he is playing a $10K buyin. He plays cash games that total the final table payouts on a weekly basis. Seems like a waste of his time.
