  1. Nobody is going to care about this. But it was announced today that Noma is closing at the end of 2024. Noma is generally considered the best restaurant in the world. They are going to become a food laboratory for their e-commerce division. The dinging room will periodically still open, I assume to test products.
  2. Freeze your credit. Each agency lets you freeze your credit profile. At that point nobody can check your credit score or open new accounts in your name. If you need to apply for a new credit card or loan, simply go to the websites and unfreeze your account, let them do their check, and freeze it again. Gives you peace of mind. If you have young kids I would also recommend you freeze their account as well. You don't want them turning 18 and finding out someone stole their identity 12 years ago and have been running wild with their credit. Links to the three main credit agencies and their pages for freezing your accounts: https://www.transunion.com/credit-freeze https://www.equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services/credit-freeze/ https://www.experian.com/freeze/center.html
  3. That is 100% what I meant when I said develop Duren behind Claxton and keep the best/cheapest one in a few years.
  4. Nothing realistic. He is arguably their best player after KD and Kyrie. Incredibly important anchor for their top 10 defense.
  5. With a little luck you could draft the next Nic Claxton.
  6. Kinda ugly. Someone said it was the worst year for US auto sales in over a decade.
  7. I don't feel the Pistons are good enough to worry about the possibility of positional logjams. I don't think Duren has shown nearly enough to not try and improve his position. I also don't think his ceiling is high enough to just shut down any potential improvement at the C position. I do think Duren has some potential 3 or 4 years down the road. But Claxton is doing it now, so I will take that. If Duren does develop then great. We keep the best and/or cheapest one and use the other in a trade to improve other weak areas of the team. Like I said, Brooklyn never makes that trade. Detroit would have to sweeten the pot a bit.
  8. Not if you get a player like Claxton. He is 23 and your starting C for the next decade. He is better than a pick in the late 20's.
  9. How dumb are the Nets? If you want a defensive anchor for Detroit at Center, see if the Nets will trade Nic Claxton for Bojan. Sort of limited offensively but knows his role and has solid range out to 4 feet. OK, his offense is a joke. But he is a lob threat and excellent on defense. Shot blocker plus defender. Possible all defensive candidate this year. Only 23 years old. I would do Bojan for Claxton + salary filler (maybe Patty Mills) straight up without a pick. You have to eat an extra year of the Mills contract at $6M per, but it would be worth it for Claxton. But Brooklyn says no in a hurry.
  10. Turner is a shot blocker, not a defender. There is a huge difference. Put it this way. He has lead the league in blocks multiple years and has never finished top 5 in DPOY voting. He has never made a single all defensive team. Then take a guy like Bam. He wont average 1 block a game and still is in the top 5 for DPOY. He has made all defensive the last 3 years. That is a defender, someone who can step out and defend the dribble hand offs, the PnR, the switch, etc. That is the guy you consider paying $30M+ a year. Turner isn't close to Bam. On top of that, the Pistons have 3 guys coming off of rookie deals in the summer of 2024. They are about to get expensive really fast. Having decent players like Turner on a stupid contract will really hurt their ability to maneuver. There are a lot of better places to spend the money they have.
  11. Big pass on Turner. Decent enough player but I am not spending $30M+ a year on a center.
  12. If the NBA ever did adopt that, they should give a retroactive lifetime ban to the guys who blew the KD out of bounds call.
  13. Myles Turner Turns Down Contract Extension Offers From Pacers Jordan Clarkson Rejects Contract Extension Offers From Jazz
  14. The Kirksville Daily Express might need some new fact checkers.
  15. I think if the Andretti's' wanted to buy a current team they would be approved in a heartbeat. But starting a new team means another team to split revenue with, and current teams are not happy with that. So it sounds like, if approved, they would run another teams engine until Cadillac was ready. People are speculating Renault or possibly Honda if they come back. It also sounds like they intend to be a full works team. I would prefer it was with Chevy. They are already in IndyCar and their Corvette racing teams have a lot of success. Cadillac is building a Hypercar for Lemans, so maybe they are serious about racing. I read Andretti would also have access to GM's tech centers in Michigan and Charlotte.
  16. As a Mavs (Luka) fan, please god don't do this to me. Be smart, go get Burks at half the price and without the dumb contract.
  17. I realize it will mostly be an offensive exhibition. But we will see Scoot go up against some NBA guys over all star weekend. He will be playing in the rising stars game.
  18. Some are questioning the competition he is going against in the OTE.
