    Luka had 53 tonight. His fourth 50+ point game this year. That is 19 total for the league and that already ties last years total. Most teams have 25-30 games left.

    The good news is the Pistons defense only allowed 2 Dallas to score double digits. The bad news is one was Luka and he had 53. He only took 24 shots.

    Luka tweaked his ankle and did not play in the Mavs last game. He is listed as questionable tonight. Wood and Kleber are out. Dallas without Luka is on par with Houston and Detroit as one of the worst teams in the league.

    I will save us all some time and lay out what is going to happen the next 10 months. Knox, McGruder, and Joseph win us some meaningless games in March. We end up with the 4th worst record. We drop to 9th in the lottery. A new head coach is hired. We all go on about what a great hire he is. None of us knew his name before he was hired. We draft a kid at #9 none of us have ever seen play for one minute. After the introductory press conference we all say, "I don't know what it is about <9th draft pick> but he really seems to have the it factor." We end the post with Detroit vs Everyone or whatever T-Shirt slogan is popular at the time. <9th draft pick> has a mediocre summer league. But in one of the games he goes off for 22 points while being guarded by the 5'11" third string Venezuelan national team player. Jordan/Wilt/Lebron comps flood the board. Change the comps to Bird/Luka if <9th draft pick> is white. Between summer league and training camp someone will post a tweet showing <9th draft pick> hitting 5 jumpers. We will rave about his jumper looking better in an empty gym with no defenders. IG or Tik Tok is also acceptable here. <9th draft pick> will have an OK pre season showing a few things, but overall rather average. And during the third preseason game you swear you saw a blue glowing hologram image of Greg Monroe, Stanley Johnson, and Brandon Knight hoovering over the LCA court, sort of like Yoda and Obi Wan. I post the 2024 draft thread before the end of the third quarter of game #1.

    Well, one good thing came of this. JJJ was -210 to win DPOY last I looked. I just loaded up on him to win at -110. Kinda screwed up though. Nic Claxton was +1600 when the post hit Reddit and now is +350. Could have made a bundle on that move. Oh well, JJJ is going to win it so getting him at better odds is a good thing.

    The last couple of weeks have slowed the Brandon Miller hype. Totally invisible today as his team was blasted by Oklahoma.

    BTW, tonight was a good example of why Ivey should not be a PG or #1 facilitator.

    They just lost to the worst team in the league. That team didn't have its top 3 players.

    I definitely expect better numbers at home. But not that big of a gap.

    Hold up. Green, Porter Jr., and Sengun are not playing for Houston and the Pistons are still behind by 2 at half?

    I guess someone went through JJJ's games at home and on the road. His blocks and steals at home are much higher than on the road. 4.13 blocks per game at home and 2.19 on the road. Steals at home are 1.4 and on the road 0.63. So he speculated the Memphis score keeper has been padding Jackson's stats at home.
