  1. I can’t believe it. I tested positive for Covid this morning. I have been able to avoid it for 4 years… but here it is. Bummer. Killer headache, high fever (& I never run a fever.. unusual for me), head congestion. right now, not taking any medication, really, just something for the fever. But my doctor asked me to call them tomorrow morning, and if I feel worse than I feel today, she’ll prescribe something. I’d just prefer not having to take an antiviral, …I’d kinda like to see this through on my own. But, i’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning. I am just surprised… I felt like I’d just never get it. 😕
  2. All this “deep state” conspiracy **** is exhausting.
  3. Omg. 😂. That is epic.
  4. Because he has nicer hair than I do.
  5. And right there is probably as un-American a statement as you can ever devise. Absolutely abhorrent. Traitorous.
  6. $83 million. Pay up, asshole
  7. Holy smokes. 😲
  8. I will never NOT totally lose it whenever I watch/listen to this. 😂. The best.
  9. I’m making 2024 the year I renew my penchant for losing myself in some good books (most new, but also some “old” re-reads), with a smattering of banned books in the mix. I gifted about a dozen books this year for Christmas also. I’ll be borrowing some of them back, lol, because a few I haven’t read in probably 30-50 years. throughout my life, I would read a pretty large number of books per year, but then, somewhere around 15-20 years ago it was something akin to when marathon runners say that they “hit the wall“. That’s what it felt like to me… Suddenly I couldn’t pick up a book and read more than 10 pages and retain anything that that I just read. totally shocked me, and I’ve tried with very limited success to read a book here and there for these past years. I’m definitely missing them in my life. So this year I’m going to find a way to get that mindset back. It was only recently, like in the last couple of months, that finally a couple friends of mine, some compatriots, came up with An explanation for my sudden drop in reading. I don’t know why I never made this connection, but their thoughts were that menopause did this to me. Jesus. I realize the timing might be about right. Well , it’s time for me to get over it! 🤓 i’m starting with “The beekeeper of Aleppo.” And I think the next book I’ll read after this will be “To Kill a Mockingbird.” My 3rd will be a re-read of “Slaughterhouse Five”.
  10. Anyone who’s even thinking that Donald Trump is going to stop at this “four more years” is delusional, or just not paying attention.. He will have them beginning the process of repealing the 22nd amendment on his second day in office. (he already has day one planned, so he’ll have to wait till the second day for this.). He will be president for life…. He will leave that Oval Office in a ridiculously ornate orange/golden casket, wait, no…. It will likely be a glass coffin so we can keep him in plain view, confirming that he’s not coming back. I say make him part of the border wall.
  11. omg. Look what we’re actually arguing here.
  12. I think Trump would EXACTLY know how racist it is.
  13. That looks like a drug deal going down… (where’s Rudy to give us his expert opinion)
  14. Re: Tonight’s caucuses … guess who said this? ” You can’t sit home. If you’re sick as a dog…. Even if you vote then pass away. It’s worth it”.
  15. Stone is such a paper Tiger. As is Trump As is Steve Bannon etc etc etc
  16. Please tell me you’ve considered that leaving might be financially unrealistic, or might not have the freedom to do so. Also, if you’re going to ask that question of women, might we not also ask it of men - who have wives, mothers, sisters, nieces, granddaughters, etc?
  17. I’ve heard that should he do that, he would be considered a witness, and would need to take the stand to be cross-examined by the prosecutors. He’s not doing it. This was just another campaigning fraud announcement.
  18. WTF. Welker is useless. You don’t let a statement like that fly. Ugh
  19. I only started watching VEEP this week. The characters are great. Very funny dialogue. I’m hooked. 😂
  20. Soooooo true.
  21. While I mostly agree with the beginning of your answer, (i.e. JFK, Viet Nam eras), maybe because I am in close physical proximity to the 9/11 NYC attacks that day, and for awhile bunch of days/months going forward… including memorials for people, in towns that I lived in that died in the attacks, or at jobs in the city, that when I was commuting more than a few of these people were on the trains that ran from the northern part of Jersey and into Hoboken, and then eventually into the World Trade Center* (* For transparency sake, the train I took was from North Jersey into Hoboken; I then switched to the PATH train that went to 23rd St., as opposed to the PATH train that went through to the World Trade Center). It therefore did have a pretty huge psychological impact on me. The practical impact - less so…. But both enduring. 22 years later, and I still have a preference for getting into the west side of lower Manhattan by the George Washington Bridge going down the W. Side Highway as opposed to going further on the east side in New Jersey and taking the Lincoln tunnel into Manhattan. And why ? because I absolutely hate that ride’s Manhattan view once the towers were down and the ground is still smoldering. I went down to Jersey City to deliver some supplies for all the emergency workers who are working down there and crossing over the Hudson every day you bring them bags and bags of shampoo and soaps and toothbrushes and towels, and socks and gloves and eyedrops, anything you can think of. I needed to drop them off and you just look up at that skyline. It would weaken my knees and make me want to pass out in the beginning. Now, of course, everything is rebuilt over there, but I still hate that ride and will prefer to start way uptown in Jersey and take the George Washington to hit Matt Manhattan . I don’t know that I’ll ever change that.
  22. OMG. 😳 On behalf of every well-endowed aunt out there, {insert horrified scream here }….
  23. I am aware… but….While true, her answer tells me that she should not be entrusted with upholding our democracy. With her answer to that question - She failed. Period.
