  1. Why is it that every team in the league has a very good young shortstop or a very solid veteran...except the Tigers?
  2. They aren't going to trade an everyday bat either.
  3. Which will also limit the return they would get
  4. Charlie Morton can cover the loss of Skubal and Mize. Genius move to bring in a 41 year old washed up starter. I mean, was he a better option than Keider Montero?
  5. You don't have to believe anything you don't want to. The report is out there that he gave a non competitive offer. I'm sure the Tigers will offer Skubal something, but it won't be accepted.
  6. If they did that, there would be hell to pay from the fan base. But I can see Harris convincing pizza boy to do that.
  7. Two more HRs allowed today. It's been like 2 weeks since they finished a game without multiple HRs allowed.
  8. It's crazy to think the Tigers actually traded someone to get Montero.
  9. They never disclosed the details but I remember reading it was non competitive. I'm sure there's something on the web about it.
  10. It was called a non-competetive offer.
  11. Like the low ball offer contract extension they offered him last season?
  12. If the Tigers can't score against this guy, they never will. 1.63 WHIP in 104 IP.
  13. There we go. Problems with thos team are all solved Who doesn't want a poor hitting, powerless, and average defensive shortstop?
  14. Not the making the playoffs is going to be a challenge. I can see them losing the division, but to miss the playoffs, the Red Sox, Mariners, and Yankees would all need to pass them. Not saying it won't happen, but that needs the Tigers to suck and the other 3 teams to play well.
  15. They will end up trading him either in the offseason or at the trade deadline. I don't think pizza boy cares what the fans think.
  16. Old Hoss Radbourne, in 1884, was 60-12, 1.38 era, started 73 of the team's 114 games and appeared in relief in 2 more games. He had 73 complete games and 678.2 IP. He had a 19.2 WAR. The team had 2 ties that season, so that's why he had 73 CGs and 72 decisions. The bullpen got a day off with Old Hoss out there.
  17. I think this has the potential to be a 12-11 type game with these 2 guys starting. They both pitched well their last start but the total is 8.5 runs and I would be surprised if at least one of the teams didn't beat that on their own.
  18. Sports writers/commentators are as vital to society as VCR repairmen.
  19. Zach Neto is going to be that guy that always destroys the Tigers.
  20. It wouldn't be a problem but guys like Mahomes are always fake sliding or fake going out of bounds and then he runs up the field for another 5 yards and when he gets barely touched he reacts like he is in a car crash. Some QBs slide early and don't have any problems, but d-bags like Mahomes has ruined it for the other guys.
  21. Possibly. But over the last 20 years, other than Paul Skenes, you'd be hard pressed to find a rookie pitcher who performed anywhere near to those projections. Even Kershaw and Verlander, arguably 2 of the top 20 pitchers of all time, weren't even close to that type of a season their rookie years.
  22. Judge, Grisham, Stanton, Bellinger, Dominguez. If he isn't going to be starting, it doesn't make sense to bring him up.
  23. True, but sending out Skubal sure gives you a lot more confidence to end a losing streak than hoping Flaherty, Mize, Paddock, or Morton can throw a somewhat competent game.
  24. The Guardians are +4000. That would be a much better bet from a risk/reward aspect, but 6 games is really tough to make up in 48 games, and they would actually have to make up 7 games to overtake the Tigers. I have no idea how tie-breakers work in mlb.
  25. Thay's why you would get terrible odds. I just looked, it's -7000. You would need to risk $7k to win $100. One of the worst bets I could imagine. They are just one star player injury away from a potential 5 or 6 game losing streak.
