I think they already showed they aren't going to spend money on resources. That is a huge turn off to someone who is elite and wants to win. He can go anywhere he wants.

Why would he want to do that? I can think of no reason why he would. They will lowball him anyway. The Front Office did nothing to improve in the off season and did nothing to improve at the deadline. Why would Skubal think the organization would suddenly try to field a better roster that costs more?

It has to be a success because the team didn't even try to improve in the offseason. Other than Torres, there was really nothing added. The team didn't try to improve at the trade deadline either.
