The majority of people complaining about the games taking too long were people that don't like or watch baseball anyway.

I was looking at WAR: Jeter 71.3 in 2747 games Ozzie Smith 76.9 in 2573 Trammell 70.6 in 2293 Larkin 70.5 in 2180 Whitaker 75.1 in 2390 Alomar 67.0 in 2379 Sandberg 68.0 in 2164 Biggie 65.5 in 2850 Grich 71.1 in 2008 games Six guys 1st ballot HOFers, one elected by veteran committee and two not in the HOF.

They still have to pay it sometime.

Air travel has made divisions by geography pointless for the most part. Does anyone feel the Tigers have some amazing rivalry with the White Sox or Royals? Rivalries are based on talent levels and on history. Who were the Tigers rivals in the 90s when they were winning 65 games a year? The answer is no one was because they weren't competitive. Why not just put all the eastern US teams in the AL and all the western teams in the NL.

The fact that 50% of the teams would make the playoffs is appaling. When I was a little kid I remember the NHL having 21 teams and 16 would make the playoffs. That was a complete joke. The playoffs generate money so they are always looking to add more teams.

They didn't pay Verlander $16 million to not be in the rotation.
-
In the WBC can you just play for whatever country will take you? Obviously, you don't have to be born in the country you play for.
-
I'm expecting a lot of really bad first innings from Verlander this season. This will be worse than the Alex Cobb contract.

Each team should play every other team 5.58 times to have the ultimate balanced schedule. No divisions, no playoffs, just one team that wins it all
-
I would prefer less interleague games and more divisional games. With 15 teams in each league, there will always be at least one series, but it's hard to get excited about playing the Reds or Marlins. I'm rather see them play games that will have a greater impact on who wins the division. MLB would hate it and it would never happen but 30 games against divisional teams, 3 games against each of the other AL teams and 12 interleague games. I'm sure it would hurt financially but I'd like to see it.

The rosters are pretty much set going onto spring training. There might be one spot open on the offense and maybe a RP here or there The plan was probably to get McGonigle on the roster at some point in the season. I don't know if they manipulate his service time or not, but that probably is involved in the decision. And if Meadows makes the team, it is only a matter of time before he is set down to AAA

I guess Hinch and the coaching staff don't know what they are doing either because they agreed. Or maybe your opinion of yourself and how amazing you are isn't even remotely close to reality.

The Tigers must think something of Peck. He was in A ball most of the year last season and now he's getting some attention in ST.
-
There were LH hitting outfielders out there but $16 million to take a stroll down memory lane for a washed up SP might have killed those chances to sign those guys
-
If McGonigle makes the team, I think Javy is the centerfielder and Meadows is a Mudhen. A guy has to hit at least a little bit to stay in the maiors.

I don't know who hurt you in the past or why you act the way you do, but the fact that you stalk me on here and throw toddler-esque insults at someone on a message board because they don't share your player assessment is pretty creepy. No one likes a creepy dude. The good news is I put you on ignore so you can find someone else who might disagree with you that you can throw personal attacks at. Good luck.

Clark has no business being in Detroit this season.
-
What would be the point? If Javy can play CF at an acceptable defensive rate, Meadows is worthless and adds nothing. Parker Meadows has trouble hitting Ally McBeal's weight let alone his own.

I remember when mlb suspended Arod for his first failed PED test for 211 games even though the rule was 50 games for the first violation. The only reason it was 211 games was to save the Yankees a bunch of money. So good for Stanton.
-
It's all good. I was told by another poster that he is basically a sure thing and will be fine when I suggested he would have trouble hitting .200.
-
It's just a spring training game to him.

I don't get the schedule At Padres At Dbacks Vs Cards At Twins Vs Marlins Vs Royals At Red Sox Vs Brewers At Reds At Braves 7 series against NL teams and 3 against AL teams through the end of April. Then they get the Mets a few series into May. Absolutely zero connection in any of those series against NL teams. What goofball in the mlb office thought that was a good idea? The interleague play stuff has gone way overboard. I'd prefer an extra series or 2 against the Central teams. This seems like a great way to get people not interested in the beginning of the season.

Konnor Griffin looks like a star already.
